I bought the Roku stick to cut the cable cord and it works well for that. The remote that comes with the stick is pathetic. It won't stay connected and now it won't even connect. If it weren't for a download on my phone I wouldn't be able to use this device at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this to save money from having cable the only thing it's lacking is the ability to watch live football games other than that I love it.

We are loving the Roku it's quick and such a clear picture. So many channels to view. The remote Never works though. I would definitely get the remote app on your iPhone. If I didn't have an app we would never be able to watch because literally the remote never works.

I bought a Roku because I wanted to decrease my monthly cable bill. Dish was charging an arm and leg for basic channels. I switched to uverse for basic tv and added Roku for Netflix. It works great. I've heard other people complain if too many people are on the internet that the streaming will slow down. I have not experienced lag in watching Netflix and I have slower internet option. I think Roku is a wonderful tool. I bought one to try it out and purchased two more for my kids. They enjoy Nickelodeon.

Wide selection; decent hardware

Good selection of channels and content but hardware needs updating. Remote and station need to be reset every so often and re-paired to get working, and quite a bit of delay in response from remote to system.
