Slow buffering

I bought it to have access to Acorn TV because I love British movies and series. However, the buffering/streaming is too slow, so I watch for a couple of minutes, then wait for more to load, etc. It is very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love this device. Very easy and user friendly. I especially like the search feature. If your trying to decide between Roku and Apple TV then pick Roku. We have both and use the Roku much more!

I have been without TV for so long, that the Roku has been a fun device for me. However, I gave it 3 stars because there is a LOT of purchasing I would need to do to watch the stuff I am truly interested in, such as regularly programmed plain old daytime TV. I got an antenna for that. Also, Roku and CBS must not be friends because I can't watch Big Brother without paying. My solution? Bought a Google Chromecast so I could cast BB from my phone, as well as any other you tube or CBS show I am interested in. Casting is killer, so if Roku made the stick cast-able I would give it 4 stars. I had to purchase Hulu, but am enjoying my TV watching experience with Roku.

Remote quit working the second week.

The stick works fine and has better functionality than I expected. The remote is another matter. It failed quickly. I am using the remote app on my iPhone to control the stick, but I should still have an operable remote.

Good when working right

It's nice when everything is working properly but when I'm switching from channel to channel some times it keeps going without button being pressed

Catilyst for change

After using my new Roku stick to watch a couple of movies on HBOGo, my 5 year old Seiki LCD 32 inch TV decided to give up the ghost. I guess it wasn't designed to stream through the HDMI port. I now have the Roku stick on a 42 inch Panasonic and it works great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
