My family and I have been using this for the past month. I have my own Roku 1 in my bedroom and the streaming stick is for the family room. With my Roku 1, I never experienced difficulty changing a channel or simply just using the remote control. I assumed the streaming stick would be no different. I was wrong. Half the time the remote will not connect to the streaming stick. I've looked at all the forums and tried every solution possible. Nothing helps. I'll try to select something, change a channel, navigate they Netflix, ect and my remote will just stop. It's VERY frustrating.
I bought mine about a month ago. At first I really wasnt very impressed. I had decided to invest in a Roku due to my other streaming device crapping out when I tried to watch netflix. So at first that's what this roku was for originally. About a week ago I discovered that the Roku can stream Twitch.tv on my tv....OMG my life is completed. I will say that I kinda wish I would have chosen one of the other Roku but the stick is pretty good too. I hate that you cant turn it off, you have to manually dis-connection it from the TV. Other than than that I am gradually loving this little streaming stick more and more.
I'm very pleased with the program selections. However, the remote is a different story!! Sometimes pressing the buttons several times works. Other times you have to reset the unit, either by pressing the reset button on the unit or by taking the batteries out of remote then replacing them. The battery thing doesn't always work!
I have a Roku 3 in my living room and thought it would be great to have one in the bedroom. So, I purchased the Roku Streaming Stick. It hasn't really worked very well from the moment I received it. I am very disappointed in it. I should have returned it but, just haven't had the chance. The problem is something is sticking inside the controller and when I surf movies or try any movement it takes off and I have to hit it to stop it. It does this over 50% of the time. I don't use it much anymore. It is annoying but, I just watch the TV in the living room.
