Easy to install and setup, just need to be sure there is enough clearance on the TV. Am hoping that the Fox News channel live becomes accessible soon so I can give up my cable TV service altogether.

Easy setup and lots of channels

I had a Chromecast and wondered what I needed a Roku for when I was given one as a gift from my company. Ignorance was not bliss. The Roku is easy to set up and has a lot of channels. Most of them I haven't even had a chance to investigate but they are very easy to set up with the Roku. It has the usual suspects, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon instant video, etc. but it also has many many more that I have not even heard of. Definitely a good streaming appliance.

My Roku stick goes through batteries very quickly

Not sure why my Roku stick is burning batteries so fast but unless I take them out after each viewing, they die. I've had to get a stockpile of high quality batteries to replace the dead ones. This can get expensive. I only watch netflix on the average of 5 nights a week at 2 hours viewing each.
Also Roku was extremely difficult to set up with all the passwords which changed each time we didn't make a connection.
Now, aside from the connection problems and dead battery situation, I am enjoying the programming very much......so much better than Comcast and no adds.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased two for my home, each was easy to setup and use, both work simultaneously with no buffering or slowdowns.

Great device! Poor remote!

I have no issues with the actual streaming stick device...it's great! However, the remote will drain a pair of brand new batteries in 1 day. We've resorted to using the app on our phones, but this is very inconvenient for when we have people visiting our home and they need to download an unnecessary app just to watch TV. So until this issue is resolved, I would not recommend to a friend.

We love Roku!

This is third Roku we've purchased. The first was a Roku 2, then a Roku 3, and then this model, the Roku stick. They all perform very well. And, though we have other streaming devices (PS4 and Apple TV), we almost exclusively use our Roku's. In terms of the Roku stick, we cannot tell the difference between it and the others in terms of channels, format, or speed. There are some feature differences, but none are the features we use. So, all things considered, we are completely satisfied with the stick and would recommend it for others.
