bought this mainly for catch up tv and it does the job, I also hoped that I could stream from computer to tv, however what I '' missed '' was that it needs an operating system of windows 8 ;:1 or above to do this, was'nt clear on the advertisement. however it does catch up tv

No more Cable!! Free at last!!

I have been using this Roku device for a month now and am very glad that I did. Not only am I able to a view lot of the same channels (though not all) that I did on cable, but I am also able to access my Netflix, AmazonPrime, Hulu and Pandora accounts on the same device. Everything looks great on my Plasma TV and I don't have the video freezing problems I was getting with the memory on my TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

roku for outside tv

Bought roku to have cable on pool patio. What we expected to have apparently was wishful thinking on our part. Can't blame roku but whoever is satisfied with streaming content is easy to please. Options are terrible and buffering drives me crazy. Finally ran cable from box to outside tv.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

With Netflix and Amazon Prime we could easily do away with expensive cable + satellite TV.. Easy to set-up and use for 77+yrs customers. We're happy with our purchase.

Better than paying for cable

My husband and I bought three and switched from cable. We love it! My six year old daughter loves it and it has many options for our family. I will say netflix is the best part of the roku. The many other apps are great too.
