Like the idea of having access to the Roku apps via HMDI stick, but the unit I have doesn't perform well at all. It drops signals all the time and I literally have to reset my remote (take out battery and put back in) every use (multiple times a viewing) as it gets stuck. The Roku box/TV's work much better. I would not have bought if I knew it would work so poorly.
I bought 2 Roku streaming sticks for my Mother and daughter. Both devices work great but both remotes EAT batteries. We have changed them So many times that now we have to take the batteries out every time we try to use it. I have a traditional Roku and my remote has no issues. Be cautious because we have spent more on the batteries than we should have.
I received the ROKU Stick free from Sling TV for taking a 3 month subscription. I already have a ROKU 3 in the living room which I hard wired to the Internet, works great, easy to use and beautiful picture quality. The ROKU Stick I placed in the bedroom, it only runs on WiFi with no option to hard wire. I'm happy with the stick and given that I got it for free it was a great value. If given the choice between ROKU 3 & ROKU Stick I would pick ROKU 3 just because you have the option of hard wire or play over WiFi. Very happy with both devices. The only issue I have with the ROKU is they do not offer HBO NOW.
I had a very difficult time registering and connecting to my computer. I finally got it working with my Charter communications for the summer. Now I'm home and cannot connect to Comcast router.
