I purchased my Roku stick to stream my video library from my server to my TV. Unfortunately, Roku severely lacks codec support for common video formats such as 3GP, VOB, MTS, AVI, M4V, WMV, XviD, DV, MP4-XviD, DIVX, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), MP4-MC, OGV, ASF, MPEG-1 NTSC, MPEG-1 PAL, MPEG-1 SECAM, MPEG-2 NTSC, MPEG-2 PAL, MPEG-2 SECAM, DVD-Video NTSC, DVD-Video PAL, DVD-Video SECAM, FLV, F4V, SWF, 3GP, 3G2, etc.
I purchased my Roku Streaming stick when I decided to cut the cord and try SlingTV. Set up was easy and the added benefit of having my other content subscriptions in one place made this a great decision!
I purchased this about 2 months ago. I also have the ROKU 2, which picks up signals better from WIFI than the Stick. Still, it is hidden, unlike the ROKU 2, which I like. I take this to my boat, and connect to my WIFI HOTSPOT through my phone, and to the local service from the marina.
I hate the controller. It is not user friendly at all. The service is constantly rebooting and is easily interfered with. Menu is lousy. Locating what I want to watch is lousy.
