Roku Okay But Lousy Remote

The remote is the main issue with the product. It uses up the batteries in less than a month. It must be signaling with the internet almost constantly to use them that quickly. The other infrared remotes we have often go a year with no battery change. I sure it's because they only draw on the battery when pressed. When I go get my iPad, the Roku device works fine - it's just a hassle with the supplied remote.

This is the best thing ever. Because of the Roku Stick, we were able to cut the cord on cable, and zero in on just the things we really want to watch. So happy with this decision!

Connectivity was not great

I bought this for our secondary TV (primary has a Roku 3) to compliment our Apple TV. Right out of the box, it wouldn't connect to the wi-fi. Had to try multiple times, and even when it connected, the connection was bad and kept dropping. In addition the remote was almost completely useless. I had to use my phone to do most of the input. Wasn't having it, so I returned it to Roku through an RMA.
Got the second one, exact same wi-fi issues, though the remote worked marginally better. Finally got fed up, and put the streaming stick on the primary TV which is about 10" from the router, and put the Roku 3 (which I LOVE) on the secondary. Now both work just fine for connection. The remote still doesn't work all that great, but I'm not going to send back when I can just use my phone instead.
Disappointing wi-fi connection, though I understand its a small form-factor, so not a lot of space for an antenna, though the Roku 3 and Apple TV connect just fine in the same place. If you have a TV close to your AP, sure, get this. If not, stick with the Roku 3, much less headache.
Also, RMA process needs a better survey "Did the replacement fix the issue?" You can either do "Yes" or "No", though the real answer may be "Kinda, and here's why..."
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features

I bought it a month ago for my bedroom tv. I couldn't afford to have cable in that room too, so bought Roku. I love it. I can get a lot of channels I love and lay in bed and watch my shows. But, I can also buy movies on it.

Works most of the time really well. Not sure if it's the sick or my internet but stops in the middle of shows and goes back to home screen. Remote sometimes works but usually doesn't

finding the router

When it works, it's great, but if often gets out of touch with the router and removing the batteries only occasionally works. I have to unplug the Roku and "reboot" the system...it's a bit annoying
