My stream stick was not easy to install; hours of calls to Roku, modem maker, cable company. The remote control needs two more buttons; STOP and POWER ON/OFF. To end a session on netflix or hulu, you need to 'Pause', press Roku 'Home' button, the remove the batteries in the remote and unplug the stick from power (behind the TV). The back of my TV is not easy to get to; move furniture, go thru tangle of wires to get to the power plug-ins on the floor. (Leaving stick attached to power may cause a fire if it overheats, as Roku support explained after I bought it, not in text on box as warning before you buy it.) To make me a happy customer, send me a new one with STOP and POWER ON/OFF buttons. thank you. J
I've been using the Roku stick for about 6 weeks now on three tv's and like the friendly-user interface. Lots of free apps to add, and has all the ones I either use (paid or free). The downside is that on one of the tv's, I have to keep resyncing the stick and remote control, and several times when in use which is odd. I am thinking that either the stick and/or remote have circuitry issues, or the tv is an older model HD, but that shouldn't affect it. I've replaced remote with new batteries numerous and reset the stick by removing the adapter between hdmi (tv) and stick. When the stick and remote work, it's all good.
I wish I would have tried this when it first came out. Great product and easy to use, and who wouldn't want to be able to watch reruns of "The Office" every day and night....That's what she said.
