I was running a cable from the laptop to the TV to watch movies on the big screen TV. I got the Roku, and wow, just wow, no lag even with the cheapest internet connection. The amount of content that is free is amazing and more free content is appearing constantly. The ease of ordering a movie is really simple, the Search function is wonderful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Me and my husband love it. Cable is expensive, and showing the same programs over and over again. I would highly recommend this product.

We have been using the Roku for a couple months now, after deciding to "cut the cord" with our cable company. With the Roku, and all the available apps, this has been the best move we have made.

I had the chromecast returned it and picked up the streaming stick and have no complaints other than it freezes up sometimes

We are Apple people and have 2 Apple TV boxes. We got the Roku stick for an extra TV when we subscribed to Feeln. We don't use the stick a lot but it's done a great job when we have used it. It's not as easy to set up as the apple product but it does have lots of channel offerings.

Received this thing as a gift and disconnected my Direct TV. You still have to pay to get any kind of selection. NETFIX, VOODOO, HULU or the TV service provider that you already have i.e. Direct TV. Plus toggling around on the remote, it gets stuck allot and just keeps going like you were holding down the button. That is just annoying when your using a toggle keyboard on the screen. You could Bluetooth or cord your computer into your smart TV and do exact same thing. My smart TV already has NETFLIX as an App so ROKU is moot unless you watch a bunch of youtube. The only plus is that you hook it into a non-smart TV and you don't tie up your computer. If you have a good computer you can pipe NETFLIX into your tv and still surf the net. It would be perfect if I could pay $8 a month or so to ROKU and get everything without having a bunch of different subscriptions. If you didn't know you still have to have internet with a wireless router to use this thing. I'm glad I didn't pay for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
