Good for the first year

Bought a year ago. Easy set up, plug in, sign in and stream! However, recently I have had to reset the streaming stick once a week as its freezing up and is unresponsive. Gave 3-4 stars in diff categories, but would give less than one starfish there was a category for "reliability"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Connection to internet is inconsistent

We have 4 Roku's and one is the Roku stick. We enjoy all the Roku's, but the stick does not stay connected to the internet as well as the Roku's that are the box. I love the Roku product and will never use anything else. However if your space is small and you don't want the box, I would still use the stick.

Quick to learn.

The Roku Stick was my first streaming device. I wasn't sure how such things worked, not being the most technological of people. To my surprise I quickly learned how to use the Roku. Hey I liked it so much I bought another one and got rid of cable. No more high bills!!!

I bought my Roku stick several months ago and have had problems with it ever since. Sometimes it works great and I couldn't recommend it more. But more often than not, it freezes up and will not let me do anything. To be fair, I have not taken the time to trouble shoot this with Roku but I really wished that I could count on it to work every time.

Installs easily but...

I've had a Roku2 box which I like very much. I bought the stick for a second TV. It certainly installs easily, and I welcomed not needing an extra cable - at first. However, the stick does seem to emit a good deal of EM interference. Or, it's possible my TV isn't well shielded. Anyways, when the Roku stick was on, I couldn't watch regular TV - there was too much noise. Unplugging the Roku stick fixed the problem, but who wants to do that every time? A 6-ft USB extension cable was required in order to allow regular TV watching with the stick powered up. (A 3-inch extender was not enough.) So, consider that you might have an extra expense if you have the same issue with the stick. Otherwise, this is a great product.

I am generally happy with the Roku Stick ... now. Had to plug the stick into the wall outlet. USB connection was shaky. Loads a bit slow, but once program is running everything is fine. But the compact size that hides behind TV is great. And the remote is better than the one for Roku 2.
