Remote makes this nearly unsuable

The user interface and streaming apps are good. However, the radio-controlled remote is absolutely infuriating to use. It stops responding to input, then 10 seconds later acts as though a button is just held down. This problem is bad enough to make the Roku nearly unsuable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great as long as you don't care about the remote

The performance is just as good as my original Roku, easy to setup, connects the the Internet and all my streaming products. But I went through torture trying to get the remote to work. The reset button, new batteries blah, blah, blah. I synced my only roku remote and it worked fine so it's definitely the provided remote. Then I googled and found users opted for the Roku remote app. Now thanks to my iPhone my Roku is just fine, I threw the remote away.

Divorce your cable company!

The only thing that I dislike about the stick is how much of the internet connection it takes up, other than that it has a ton of apps to use and is perfect if you want to divorce your cable company. We use this in conjunction with SlingTv, Hulu and Netflix. Totally worth the low cost of buying it, and looking forward to buying a Roku Box in the future.

I bought a roku stick, it works great. The only issue I had out of 4 flat screens, the oldest flat screen would not fit the roku stick because of the way the hdmi port was. It fit on other 3

A gift from my grandparents. It streams so well I haven't really had any issues with buffering. Definitely a decent player for those who want something basic.

I bought Roku a little over a mouth ago , I replaced the batterys twice , so i bought rechargeable batterys other than that it works good

After buying one of these for my mom months ago, I decided to purchase one my own house. I couldn't be happier with that decision! There are many free channels as well as subcription channels, which means an endless supply of new material to watch.

Delivers as advertised

We're what I would call 'limited' users of streaming services. Pretty much Netflix, PBS and a few new services. For the price of a ROKU stick we got exactly what we needed. An unobtrusive device hidden behind the TV set and it works as advertised. Fast response although remote response is somewhat slow. Overall a good value.
