Glitchy, poor interface, and undependable

I bought this and a three month subscription with Sling. However, the entire time I've had it it has been nothing but a pain and waste of money. I purchased it specifically to watch SlingTV, yet every time I try to boot up the app the Roku glitches out, freezes, or crashes completely. When I try to use Netflix or Hulu (which work fine on all my other streaming devices) the Roku fails, freezes, and crashes frequently. In addition, the Roku frequently goes down for service (it was down the day I got it! I couldn't even set it up for almost two days!) and now it won't reconnect to my wifi- even after restarting the router, reverifying my password, and restarting the roku. It is a terrible device with a weak interface.

I LOVE the concept of the Roku itself, but I have noticed several cons. First, the connection is not steady... it's wifi so what do you expect. It is a scaled down version of the Roku 3 so it doesn't have the cool features like a headset or wired connnection. But the thing that frustrates me the most is all the channels. It seems like most of the channels I want all need a subscription to a cable or dsl provider. The whole reason we switched to the Roku was to have access to other FREE channels. If I had cable, why would I need that channel on the Roku? Finally, I really wish they would get PlutoTV.
I've had a Roku 2XD for a few years and have always been pleased. But with this compact design and mobility as well as the ever improving interface, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to expand their entertainment experience...
The stick plus into a HDMI jack, and then to AC power and was in use within 5 minutes, more like Ten if You must set up an account. Works great with Sling-TV.
Overall, great streaming stick. The streaming stick takes about 30 seconds to load over the Roku player which can be mildly annoying. You can to plug power into it which occasionally comes loose if the TV is moved. I used the stick in the basement and my WiFi router is upstairs. Despite the distance I still stream great, 99% of the time. My Roku player is upstairs and I get all the same features with the stick.

I don't watch enough TV to make cable a reasonable proposition, so I decided to try the Roku after comparing products on CNET. It works well, but I am disappointed that it is not easier to identify really, truly, totally free content when searching for stations. I'm not interested in free trials - these should be a separate category. I am especially happy with the ability to screencast from my Android devices. I use this for movies and exercise videos.
Remote does not work. I have changed the battery multiple times and it still doesn't work. I finally downloaded the app on my phone so that I could actually use the remote.
