My first Roku was a Christmas gift in 2010. I liked it so well I went out and bought another for my bedroom tv. Recently I decided to get one for the kids room for when my grandchildren are here and decided to try the stick. It is great!
We love the streaming videos through our Rokus and we are so happy to have "cut" the TV cable cord. The remotes either don't work well/go through batteries like water but we love the Roku App on our I-phones go control what we see.
I bought the stick about two months ago and I've had to reset it 4 times already as well as call customer service twice. I should've paid the extra money for the Roku 3. I have two of the 3's and they work great.
I plug the power right into the USB on the back of my TV and now the ROKU cycles off as I power of the TV... My other ROKU just stayed on 24/7... Also the remote does not need a line of sight... GREAT PRODUCT
Only negative is the Time Warner Cable app would work when I took the roku streaming stick with me on vacation. The app worked fine on my phone but would not on the roku.
I just got this and hooked it up today. It wasn't hard to set up, but when you do make sure you have a flashlight with you. The area I had to hook it up to (behind the TV) was a dark area. It works well. Picks up the wireless. Gives you all the channels you can add (some are free, some are not). I think it's great. I might get a Chrome and see if it compares at all. Just for fun. Technology in the 21st century. I love it.
