So far I like the Roku and the features it offers. The app selection is good and quality is always great (using about 50 mbps internet). My biggest complaint is with the remote and the speed of the cursor. The reaction time to the remote can be very slow, or seem to "stick". You push and it does nothing for a few seconds, so naturally you push it again or a couple times, then it acts like you pressed it 15-20 times. Other than that, great product for what it is. Don't have anything to compare it to other than Chromecast which is really just too different from the Roku stick to compare the 2.
I have roku3 box in living room-and the Roku 3 stick in bedroom- this is a must have for all espeacialy for senior and anyone that is on fixed income and can,nt afford are deal with content rising cost of cable-with Roku I can pick the amt. to pay as well as have choice of wachting unlimited free channel, Like T.D.Jake, Joyce Mayer etc

I love the Roku. It has allowed me to cut the cord of horrible cable. Pluses: Small and easy to use. Excellent WiFi reception. Negatives: Needs self powering from HDMI slot. It needs to update the channels more (or force the developers of the channels to update them more often). The mirroring feature with miracast is not strong enough and needs to move out of its Beta format that it has been stuck in forever. It needs to force Tablo to update their channel. It is old and not user freindly. Something is better than nothing but just barely. Needs to allow a Kodi channel.
I got a Roku Streaming Stick about a month ago. Setting it up on my TV was easy because I had the necessary HDMI ports and USB port (though you can get by without the USB since it is only used to power the Roku - you can always plug it into the wall. A wide variety of both free and pay programs are available for anything from TV series to movies. My biggest gripe is that the remote control will not stay paired to the device, so I either have to constantly reset it or use my I-phone for which a free app is available.
I bought my Roku a month or so ago. I'm thinking I may need to exchange it for another. First, the batteries that came with it were dead. Then, thinking my router was outdated I bought a new Netgear. Still, sometimes the remote works and sometimes not. I have to keep taking the batteries out, put them back in and then it works most times. Other than that I like the ROKU.
