After trying to use my Roku for 2 weeks, I finally got fed up with the constant pausing and remote freezing that I took it back for a refund. I purchased the Amazon stick and LOVE it!
This is the second stick I have bought. The first one worked for about six months and then just stopped. I didnt have the receipt so I just replaced it. The new one runs hot and doesnt keep the connection very well. My WIFI range is pretty good, but it has trouble connecting. When it works, it is great though.
I bought my Roku when I started having issues with my Directv. I knew that I wanted to start scaling down on my Directv so this was the perfect opportunity to do it. Adding channels is super easy, and new channels are available all the time. The one big bummer, and it's not a Roku direct issue, is that a lot of channels require a cable/satellite subscription to view them. I love British TV, and I have great access to old and current programming (c'mon bbcamerica - jump on the wagon!). I plan to buy at least one more if not two more Rokus in the near future. The one actual Roku bummer is having to plug in the stick. I suggest including either the stick to usb cord or the electrical wall plug in the packages. Either offer both or let the consumer pick. It's a pain having to make sure that the tv is near an available outlet. My overall rating at this point is 4.5 out of 5.
