Only had this for a few weeks and already I've been through three sets of batteries; often when I reach for the remote I see no response, go through the reset procedures only to discover the batteries are dead. Fresh pair works fine for a while, but I'll need to be returning this. Disappointing situation for an otherwise good product.
Wondering why I didn't cut the cord years ago. I have a Roku3 and the Roku HDMI and I plan to buy another to supply the rest of our homes entertaining areas.
When I bought my first PC back in the mid 90's I thought there was nothing that could ever be as exciting, but I was wrong. This thing is amazing! I bought this after having trouble casting Netflix from my Kindle to my Google Chrome Stick. I was hoping it would be an upgrade, but soon found out it is in an entirely different Galaxy! If there are limits to what this thing can do I haven't reached them yet. Every day I add a few more "channels" and I now have over 200. The "channel" concept is a bit misleading. Unlike TV channels where you turn to one and watch what is currently airing, one Roku channel can have hundreds of movies, dozens of TV programs, (many with every episode from every season), talk shows and internet programs of all varieties... There are music channels, book channels, games, educational channels, and TV programming from around the world! Sure there are fees for some channels, but there are so very many free channels that by paying for a few premium channels, (for newer movies and programs), and adding all of the free content you can't get on cable you can have a far better package for pennies on the dollar. If you have cable or satellite you have free access to the "on the go apps" for your provider and most of the channels in your package. What this means is you can watch all the movies and series on say HBO or Showtime when you want to, not just during the times they are aired live, and you can go back and watch all of their original series from the past from the first episode to the last!
