I've had Roku for a couple months and I've enjoyed it. I can watch Netflix and Hulu on my non-smart TV! It's great! EXCEPT...the remote. The remote at random will decide to stop working. The reset button inside doesn't function. I'll be browsing movies and all of a sudden the remote stops responding! I have to take the batteries out for like 30 seconds or so and then put them back in for it to work again. I tried new batteries and it still does it. BUT there's a free app that makes your phone into the remote, which works flawlessly.
I have another Roku Box on one or my HD TV's and it still work great. I purchased my new Roku stick, the same functionality but easier to access my streamed movies.
I bought it a month ago and I absolutely love my Roku stick I turned my cable off and a friend told me about it and I bought it and fell in love with it I will be getting another one soon Thanks Roku
I absolutely love the roku stick. As a person with no cable I rely on netflix and hulu for all my movie and tv needs. With the roku stick you get so much more!! Some of the channels have unlocked episodes that you can watch for free that are not on netflix or hulu. Roku stick is a game changer for those who dont care to have cable service.
The Roku Stick does what it claims to do: it streams the tv shows and movies you love. But it doesn't always do it well. From time to time, the Roku Stick can and will develop a mind of its own and decide not to load certain channels. And I'm not talking about a random channel that you find made by a guy in his basement. I'm referring to Netflix. But I'm forgiving! A simple push of the reset button usually fixes the issue...you know, until next week. But then there's the remote. The remote connects the stick via WIFI which enables you to use the remote without having to point it at the Stick. That's a great feature, but also a curse. I've experienced lag time as long as 30 seconds. Does this happen often? No. But it does happen. When I push 'play' or 'pause', I expect nearly immediate results. I could perhaps overlook having to tap the button twice, once to wake it up, once to enter the command. But waiting over 5 seconds for the stream to pause is unthinkable in our current tech savvy culture. However, it does stream full HD as it's meant to and I had it set up and ready to go in 3 minutes. But if I could go back, I would search my couch cushions for spare change and purchase a more advanced model.
