My experience with the HDMI streaming stick has not been all that great. I have trouble way too often with the pairing of the remote, and after only about 2 months of owning this this thing, I have changed the batteries in the remote twice. I wonder if living in a rural area and having what seems to be a not always reliable internet connection could be part of the problem. I don't know, but I kind of wish I had bought one of the other models. I never had this much problem with my Roku XD.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

With the Roku Streaming stick the series being watched continues long after the tv is turned off (or if you fall asleep to an episode)

i bought this over a month ago and love it. i don't have to have a small box on my desk to watch tv it fits on the back of my tv out of the way, it works wonderfully

A great alternative to cable. Lots of channel choices. Of course many cost money but you can decide which ones are important to you. Plenty of free channels also.

Excellent- But, has issues

Purchased two of these beauties, is VERY easy to set up, for use with a Tablo OTA Dvr. Followed most reviews on the forum, especially the issue of the Wi-Fi remote ocassionally not working. Both of mine have this problem, and found the android roku download is a very effective workaround. Download and install on my android phone, and haven't had a problem since. Maybe look at RF based remotes for future improvements? Just a thought!

For some reason the stick is having a delay effect on my overall TV. Turning it on and off is slower with the stick plugged in. Very odd. My Roku 3 doesn't do this to the same make of TV (only difference is screen size). BUT......it is still awesome. Easy to connect to all the channels that are on my Roku 3. Easy to stop playing on one Roku device to pick up on the other.

Have Roku 1 and 2 that work well. This streaming stick gets very HOT, almost 2 hot too touch. Remote is junk and never worked out of the box and after being paired. NOT recommend
