The Streaming Stick made it easy for me to cut ties with a big cable company and has all the movie, news, and tv features I would ever need. It's fast, easy to use, and travels well. Simple.

Love the new buttons

We have an older Roku box. I got the streaming stick for my 6 year old's television. I love the new remote with the extra buttons. It us easier for non-readers and assisted readers to access channels. The free Google Play movie was a nice treat too. So pleased with this purchase. I plan to get another for the tv in our family room.

Great media player on a stick

It does everything I expect it to. Play media from netflix, amazon, PBS Kids, youtube, sling tv, etc. The only thing that makes me reduce it one star is that it's a bit slower (starting up and certain actions) than my roku 3 which is expected since it doesn't have the hardware a regular roku unit does.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Remote Problems

Always needing to pair up the remotes and it is a long several step process if that did not work go onto the next step. The app. is absolutely better for the remote however never lose the remote or then you can not get the app. to work. Horrible because of the remote controls not working properly.

Disappointed

Within two weeks of receiving this product the remote stopped working. We replaced the batteries but that did not work. Now we have to use the remote app on our phone which is a pain since we purchased this for the kids playroom.

I bought this for a second TV the first TV has a Roku 2.
The stick is convenient since it does not require an AC plug and HDMI cable.

My kids love the option of the Roku stick when watching television. We have had pretty good luck with it with the exception of a couple times. We had a hard time connecting to the wireless or it would freeze up on us. The Roku help desk was easy to work with in fixing the problem.

Love the content, but struggle with the remote

We purchased the Roku in order to watch an exclusive channel that is available and to try Sling TV. The overall content and simple interface is good. The remote has been nothing but difficult. We can't scan channels without having to remove the batteries and try and get the remote working. It constant freezes up or loses contact somehow. Read other reviews stating similar problems. Unfortunately this really impacts the experience. The ROKU app has helped on the phone, but that is not always convenient. Overall the idea is great, but the equipment is below average.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
