I got this a couple weeks ago, and use it more than the Dish. However, the batteries that came with the remote died two weeks in, and I needed to replace them. Sometimes the remote freezes or something so I have to open the back and re insert the batteries to get it to work. I wish I had an easier way to see what all they have available on Netflix but the Roku works.
I bought this unit after seeing it at use at my brothers house. I wasn't sure it would work at my house due to the distance to my modem. I plugged it into the back of the TV and in a couple of minutes I had signed up for Netflics and I watched a movie.
Its good until it resets itself. I'll finish with the Roku and not use it for a week. When I go back to the Roku, it wants me to do the initial (long) setup process again.
The stick works great and is easy to use. I like having the wifi remote, it makes changing channels from the other side of the room easy! Set up was a bit of a hassle, it took 3 or 4 attempts including 2 resets to get it connected with the wifi, but once it was done we haven't had any issues with it.
I got this about 2 months ago, and I mainly use it for Hulu and Netflix, which I love. Then when my girlfriend and I want to watch a newer movie we just use Google Play because of preference, nice layout, cool features, avg prices, etc... The reason why I only reason I give this 4 stars is because the roku stick in general, sometimes has a few glitches and bugs but nothing major, just minor. I love it, strongly recommend.
Very functional works excellent for NFL Sunday Ticket but Sling TV can be jumpy (this maybe internet connection or Sling TV problem). Would be nice to integrate local channels or integrate UI with a antenna.
I had bought this as an upgrade when the other streaming device I owned was breaking down on me and for the first couple of weeks it was great and I was really excited. The other one I had was a cheap one and had lasted a really long time before it started it have problems. When I got this I bought it for much more and had bought it to suit my needs among its competitors. That being said I wish I had known about the over-heating problem that apparently is rather common among these devices. The Roku Stick that I had bought only lasted me about two weeks before the issue got so bad it now will no longer remain on for longer than five minutes without resetting. If I unplug it and try again later the amount of time before it reheats gets shorter and it will reset again. I did buy the warranty but I am not sure how much good it will do me as this seems to be an issue with the product itself. As far as satisfaction goes I was thrilled for two weeks, but now I pretty much own the equivalent of a tiny door-jam, as that's all I can really use it for now.
