It's a great device!

I had heard of this, but I'm not very up to date on the new technology, so I bought it not having a clue how to work it or what it does, but it was super simple to install, super easy to operate, and has great options for my children, streaming wise is super easy too. The only issue I have had with it, is sometimes I have to restart it because it wasn't loading correctly, but other than that I love this product!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stick works fine, remote sucks

The stick works just about as well as my Roku 2 in regards to performance, but the remote is terrible. Because it is RF instead of infrared it constantly loses connection with the stick. It also eats batteries. I have already had Roku send me out a replacement remote once. The new one has lost connection twice with the stick. Each time I have to open the battery compartment, take out a battery, then go to remote pairing on the stick. Basically, until they get this remote sorted out, I would not recommend purchasing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My son and I love the Roku streaming stick. I am presently trying to purchase a roku tv so I can the roku stick in my bedroom. Very convenient.

Great features, but

This is the second Roku Streaming Stick I own. One is in the main family room downstairs, this new one is upstairs in the office. The stick works perfectly. What doesn't work so well is the remote. This new remote is smaller (only uses AAA batteries vs. AA batteries for my old one).
This remote will loose connection with the Stick and I will need to go thru the pairing steps again. This is becoming annoying. I know for a fact that it isn't my WiFi because I can pair my old remote with the new Stick and it works flawlessly. I tried to pair the new remote with my older Stick and it would maintain pairing for a while but then stop.
I will need to contact customer service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slow and cheap remote

This is the second time I have reviewed this. I think that the Roku stick is slow. Some of the buttons on the remote have stopped working.

Remote repeatedly stops working. I've tried the fixes suggested on the Roku web site but the only thing that seems to work is removing and reinstalling a battery.

would give 5 stars but it does seem to have a bit of a "lag" for want of a better word. It just is not as quick to respond as my Roku3. But very much worth the price and I am not at all sorry I purchased it.
