Unbelievable upgrade from my 1080P 24"

This monitor is stunningly beautiful and color accurate. I use it for everything from word processing, to photo editing and gaming... it has amazing colors and the ultra wide screen is a joy to use when multi-tasking.

-Unable to turn off the blinking light on the power/control button of the monitor when it goes to sleep
-Stand does not allow the panel to swivel, which makes getting it into the perfect position a workout
-Expensive, for a 1440p panel without any other features such as faster frame rate and G-sync or FreeSync

Perfect size and resolution!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Resolution is not true 4k, but it at the very happy end of the spectrum. It doesn't over tax my GPU but gives me great views! I also love the split feature that allows you to make up to 4 windows if you wanted.

Great Monitor, DANGEROUS Software

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a computer expert. I recently purchased the 34UC87C 34" ultra-wide monitor and installed the software and drivers. The installation of the drivers went fine. The monitor looks beautiful.
The problem came from the installation of the Split Screen utility. After installation, my Windows 7 Pro system would NOT ALLOW ME to open ANY FILES, ANYWHERE. It looked like the installation trashed the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry. ALL files and folders gave the same system error message:, that I did not have permission to open the object.
A system restore didn't help. I finally tried to take ownership of all of the folders and restore permissions to them, and NOTHING WORKED. After many frustrating hours, I was forced to do a CLEAN INSTALL of Windows. Before I reloaded all my apps, I downloaded the latest Split Screen version 6.57, hoping LG had already found/fixed this, and tried it. It trashed the system as well. Another clean install, I loaded all my apps, gave up on split screen, and moved forward. THIS IS A DEVASTATING S/W PROBLEM!. If you buy this otherwise great monitor, do NOT install the split screen software until LG has fixed this severe bug.
Also, when I move windows to the right edge of the screen, the edge of the window gets dozens of rips and electrical noise. But this could be my graphic card struggling with this wide display, so I won't condemn this model yet. Except the software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I run anywhere from one to four screens aon it. Read a lot of text, and numbers. Couldn't be happier. Also great picture quality.

Christmas present to myself

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wasn't sure if this screen would be too large for a desk, but it's amazing. No dead pixels, amazing clarity. I'm not a gamer, but once I expanded it 150% I don't need glasses the screen is so big. The price was a little prohibitive, but why not it's Christmas. The only other complaint is only 1 year warranty.
