I've owned the S200 for several years- since they were available band new. By today's standards it seems as old fashioned as an anvil but it's just about as durable. Takes great pictures and the meter doesn't try to over-think the scene in the process like newer digitals do. Response time is adequate, the controls don't get in the way, the menus are intuitive, and the battery life is good enough for a full day of touring around...probably 200 pictures. At 2.0 megapixels it stores tons of shots on a CF card. It just does a great job overall for a point and shoot.
Just sent my much newer SD630 in for repair which is why I'm on the Canon site today. I've never had to repair the S200. It just keeps going and going and going! From Mumbai to Stockholm, and Buenos Aires to Denver, I can count on it to never let me down. LOVE this camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, incredibly durable
Cons: small lcd
I would recommend this to a friend!

This camera is easy to use in all situations. It is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket. Llight enough to handle easily inside and outdoors. It zooms out to capture far away scenes and automatically adust to the day light available. Using a 259K memory card the camera can store over 400 pictures. The battery is rechargeable and last a long time on a charge. The cost of a spare battery is reasonable so having a spare with you allows you nat to miss the picture you want. The Purchase price is also resonable so if you happen to lose it, it won't crimp your wallet to replace. The software that comes with the camera makes down loading the picture fast. All around its a good camera to have...
