9 years of great service and counting!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I came on to order replacement utensil baskets and racks for our 9-year-old Icon dishwasher and am very surprised to see all of the reviews below so I thought I would share our positive experience with this dishwasher. We love it! We never have to pre-rinse and we find it to be pretty quiet compared to what we've noticed at others' homes. We also appreciate the attractive design and feel it is a good value for what you get. Now, we are in need or replacing the utensil basket (the bottom has given out) and several of the rack components, but I think that's probably fairly normal after years of use. The cycle may be on the longer side as well but it doesn't really bother us.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worst Dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] expected great quality. 2nd unit and it has had 4 service calls and needs another. Racks do not stay in place very cheap quality will not hold plates up. Stinks always if you don't empty and dry it out, holds water and doesn't dry properly. And yes I use dryer aid and when control panel isn't flashing insanely I select the correct cycle. This product should not be on the market it is poor quality and unsanitary to use.

Hi Donnam, thank you for your review. I hate to hear that you are unhappy with your dishwasher. We do recommend checking to ensure your water heater is set at 120°F (49°C) to get proper water temperature inside the dishwasher. Also, run the hot water at the sink closest to your dishwasher prior to running your wash load. Hope you find this helpful! -Jennifer

Great Dish "Wetter"
on July 13, 2017

We bought a new home and unfortunately, the builder installed Electrolux Icon appliances throughout the kitchen. I had alway thought Eletrolux was a great brand, but the appliances in this new home have proven that to be incorrect. This dishwasher does NOT wash dishes. If the dish is not clean before it goes in, it will not come out clean, period. They also will not come out dry, not matter what drying setting you use. I checked our water temperature, it's 132 degrees. We use cascade and Jet-dry. We do all of the recommended things, but this is one of the worst dishwashers on the planet. In fact, while it no longer appears in Consumer Report's ratings, when I first looked at the ratings for this machine, it was #2 from the bottom of the list of around 150 dishwashers rated by Consumer Reports. It's sad, but I think we're going to have to go out and buy a new dishwasher to replace this new one because it doesn't wash dishes. There's no point in having it really as we end up washing everything in the sink, then running it through a cycle in this machine basically to sterilize them. As for the other Electrolux appliances in our kitchen, time will tell. They all scored extremely low scores for reliability. As far as daily use, our oven and gas cooktop are the only two items that seem decent. The microwave is the worst microwave we've ever owned, and the refrigerator frustrates the crud out of us every time the power flickers as it has an alarm that starts incessantly beeping. Oh, and after we filled out our registrations cards, Electrolux sends us information on their extended warranties. I could almost go out and buy new appliances for what they want for their extended warranties (which ought to tell you something about how often they expect to have to fix them). Also, I should mention that I'm not alone in my thoughts on these appliances. Our neighborhood is a very close-knit group, and all of us who have this same builder that uses Electrolux appliances have talked about them and NO ONE has a good opinion of them. In fact, I'm one of the lucky ones that hasn't had to have Electrolux service come out. None of my units has 'conked' out yet...they just don't work well new from the factory. Suffice to say that I personally will NEVER spend another penny toward Electrolux or Frigidaire appliances. They are a complete waste of money.

Dries POORLY

Came with new home and UPGRADED package appliances but my 8 year old dishwasher in our last home worked much better. Very disappointed with each and every load. Amazing how one appliance in todays technology can perform so poorly.

Thank you for sharing your dishwasher experience with us, CathyB. I apologize for any frustration this matter may have caused you. There are many conditions that can impact drying, the most common being temperature. The “sweet” spot for water temperature is between 120-130 degrees for the best cleaning and drying potential. If you are uncertain if your water is the appropriate heat, check your water heater's temperature reading. To help get the hottest water to your dishwasher, try letting water run in your sink until it’s hot (like you do before getting in the shower). This "primes the pump", it gets hotter water to your dishwasher faster. Your dishwasher uses about 3-4 gallons per cycle, limiting the opportunity the water has to warm up if it doesn’t start off hot enough. Don’t forget to use rinse aid, it really makes a difference. Check to make sure the rinse aid dispenser is full. The dispenser window may show a dot to indicate its level, or it may function like a fuel gauge. If the dispenser is low, remove the cap and fill the reservoir (page 17 in your Owner’s Manual). Be sure to clean the filters regularly (page 18 in your Owner’s Manual). Selecting the heat dry option in combination with rinse aid will enhance drying performance. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reconnect with us by calling our Customer Engagement Center at 888-203-1389. The hours for the CEC are 8am to 8pm Eastern Monday through Friday and Saturday 8am to 6pm. Your Electrolux friend, Ruth

Cleans fine. LCD display faulty

This was a replacement dishwasher for us. After owning it for 5 months, the LCD display that allows you to choose the wash cycle began blinking and lost the ability to be changed. That means that it is now stuck on rinse cycle. I also don't love the orientation of all the pop up racks.

I can imagine your concern, Nathan in Idaho! Try performing a hard reset by flipping the circuit breaker off for 2-3 minutes. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact us directly at 1-877-435-3287 M-F from 8a-8p or Sat from 9a-6p EST for additional troubleshooting. ~ Brandi

Looks good but useless!

Does not dry dishes at all! Have to use towel to finish dishwasher's job. Let's go back to 18th century. The tech said that there is no venting system. So, the steam stays inside and the drying cycle is useless.

Hi Kolobok, thank you for taking the time to share your valuable thoughts. We do apologize for the difficulties you’re dishwasher may be causing you at this current time. We do suggest to make sure the water temperature to the appliance is set between 120*-140*F. This is the minimum temperature range that the water supply must reach in order for the detergent to dissolve completely. Do you have heat dry cycle selected and using rinse aid? We realize that as a consumer you feel that these are not reasons for your dishwasher to under-perform. Over the last few years Energy Star has issued stricter standards for water and energy usage which can increases the need for Rinse Aid to dry dishes. Best Wishes, Jennifer
