I had a similar reformer but it was on the ground. Sometimes I wouldn't just get on it because it was so low and not as tight as the ones at the studios. I really wanted a expensive one but couldn't afford it yet. So my husband bought me this one for my Mother's day present! It's perfect! It's got good tension and I love that it's off the ground. It's very sturdy and well made. I also had wanted to try the rebounder style. It's great! I learned how to do the routine by watching the free DVD once! LOVE my Reformer!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally something that does not hurt my Hips

I've only had this a few days but so far I am thrilled. I have bad hips and knees and can no long do the Treadmill. I have seen this on QVC for a while and finally took a chance. I am so glad. The instructions are clear if not a little too fast for my 65 yr old ears. I wish it had come with the wider foot rest for standing exercises. It would be more stable for me. Also no Allen wrench was included, but Mr. Fixit had a tool that worked. Finally I can work out again. Very pleased as is Mr. Fixit since he is using it too.

Got this in late February and was surprised at how quickly it arrived. Assembly instructions are clear and I had it together in no time at all. Love that it's up on a stand. Strap adjustment was simple.

Cord tightness/Video dvds

I purchased this item through Sears.com. I wanted the 5556 series but the dealer through Sears was not supplying it, so I chose one grade down. I was told that the delivery date was going to be 2 months later, sometimes in late September but I was nicely surprised when it arrived 12 days after first day of order. My son who has has mechanical skills put the item together. He said it was very easy and it took him half an hour to assemble. I have now begun using the aeroPilates and I am very happy with it except for a couple of issue.
1. The model, in some of the exercises stresses randomly that the demonstrated exercise is for balancing the right and left legs and arms and yet the cords slip through the rings which are attached to the Velcro handles and become uneven and make you feel lopsided. I've had to stop mid routine to undo the knots and redo them. Remembering my girl scout knots would have been helpful here.
2.Other than that, my other concern is with the sturdiness of the platform and I am anticipating the whole structure to begin to move or become too noisy in time and with more use but so far, it's been quite sturdy and very little friction noise.
3. And lastly, the supplier send me two dvds and I am already bored with the Workout Level 1 and I've been looking up level 2 and 3 dvds and I find them extremely expensive for my budget.
Having voiced my personal concerns, you will not regret purchasing this item.

I am an avid pilates enthusiast and have been very pleased with the AeroPilates machine. I am able to perform the same exercises as with the studio reformed in the comfort of my home. The price is incredible for what you get!
