I Love my 55" Samsung 8550!

I love everything about this technical wonder! The picture and the ability to manipulate several sets of picture adjustments to make the images perfect to me. The small remote/mouse works flawlessly and controls power/volume of my Denon AV Receiver and AT&T U-verse power and all functions almost out of the box. YouTube, Netflix, Amazon an Vimeo have a good selection of 4K content and up scaling works very well. U-Verse offers PPV 3D rentals of all the Action Adventure movies. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy last night and the 3D was better than in the theatre and the glasses set securely in place, even though I wear regular glasses as well. This is our 4th Samsung flatscreen. The first was a best in class 32" 1080i set. It cost a bit more than the 8550 when we bought it and it's still going strong. With all the features built into the 8550, this may be the last set we need.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, intuitive compact remote/mouse, on board apps work flawlessly.
Cons: may be the last set we need

Anynet problems

the Anynet device has serious problems because I have three devices connected to my TV a blu - ray player, Sound bar, and my Direct TV Genie receiver, and when I try to detect devices in the system menu it says no device detected, and I have reset my TV twice over the past few days and it did not change anything it still says no device detected and is very frustrating because my devices are clearly connected to the TV correctly so something is very wrong with the Anynet function for this TV. Although, they all work just fine if I manually switch sources which means my devices are connected correctly, but I thought that the Anynet Function was so you did not need to do that, the TV did it for you, therefore Samsung needs to take a serious look into improving the Anynet function for this TV because something is very wrong with the Anynet Function!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: anynet function does not work correctly

Good color, Briteness and ability to run movies from the Internet. I'm sure it will take me more time to learn to use more of it's features. I've only had it for a few months.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color

Absolutely awesome 4K-HDTV and loving it, and everything about it. Short review but really only awesome experience with the TV and all the features are awesome.

I was an early adopter of the UN55HU8550, purchasing it the first week it was available.
Overall, I've been very happy with the purchase. The picture is stellar, the aps more than adequate and useful, and connectivity is easy to achieve.
All in all, I'm happy I went with the flat panel, and would recommend the set for anyone wishing to become an early 4k adopter.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy setup for novices using presets
Cons: hdmi signalling issues with avr 4k upscaling

Awesome TV

Picture quality is awesome!! Apps are great! I have owned both the TV and Samsung sound bar for about 6 months now and both are great items. Only issue I have is that when the TV is connected to the Samsung sound bar, I get audio stutter every once in a while and have yet to figure out why this is happening. Both the TV and sound bar are new so I am not sure if it is a TV or sound bar issue.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight

I wanted a smart TV and I got one loaded with features. It has all the built in apps one could ask for. It has a great picture. Hope to see more 4K content come in the future.
