Not what it is cracked up to be

When buying a 4k tv understand the store shows you the best picture as possible or the tv demo mode. In the real word we have 1080p at best have very little 4k programing. Go Pro or Samsung 4k camera. Now that is said. The Samsung un55hu8550 4k tv is Not what its cracked up be. As watching in1080p there was a lot of clouding in the black and dark colors. The picture was not great it did look like you were looking through a screen door.You need to watch this tv 10 feet back when watching 1080p. Not Samsung fault but the HDMI 2 didn't work. the upscaling just wasn't what it was cracked up to be. .Back to my un55f8000 tv..

Excellent Product

I have had a number of Samsung products and have been pleased with all of them. This TV is excellent with a picture that is overwhelming. It was easy to set up and works great. My only negative with the set-up was the lack of detailed clarity for the use of all of the inputs and a detailed view of the connections plane in the manual.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, competitively priced

I am in the process of returning this tv. I also purchased a hw750 sound bar very expensive. to my surprise it cannot connect thru sound share it must be wired thru arc or digital optic. this is such a surprise since it has no problem connecting to my much cheaper plasma. samsung continues to disappoint me.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no soundshare option

Great Picture but not a great value

A TV with a picture like this should be combined with an awesome sound system and the sound system doesn't even get one star from me. It's the status quo, apparantly, is to "encourage" consumers to "upgrade" their audio (spend more money) by obtaining external speakers.
The Smart Hub is pure gimmickry. One cannot stream movies with the current configuration because the "system memory" (or lack thereof) is inadequate for they type of operation. So what are the links to "pay-per-view" or "pay-per-listening" all about? I'm not sure. If you want to surf the internet, it won't be with this "Samsung Browser" that loves to crash and is slower than Moses. The technology isn't there yet, and what is included with this set, outside of a great picture, shouldn't be... so don't get too excited.
I will give the upscalling screen resolution a plus. I watch OTA broacasting and this set makes today's True H.D. OTA Broadcasting looks fantastic.
Over all, I'm obviously disappointed that I didn't get a good bang for my buck.

It is not as simple as I would like for it to be to learn about the capabilities...I actually would appreciate a human to talk me through it...that can understand and speak English, not just answer "FAQ's"
