Love the picture

I saw a Samsung tv at my brothers house for the first time and was blown away by the picture quality. I went to my son's for thanksgiving and he had a Samsung TV same picture quality. Came home and bought a 50 " Samsung TV at best buy. I live on my VA pension, so I check out items before I purchased them. Knowing that I would have a great picture on my new TV and was not disappointed. Thank You for a great TV.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: doesn't have one.

Great picture for Ultra HD and 3D!

This Samsung Smart TV has a beautiful picture. The 3D picture is absolutely stunning. It was very easy to set up and includes a Smart controller that makes maneuvering around the TV simples as a point and click. I was able to easily access apps on my TV and stream content including Ultra HD content on my TV through my internet connection. Ultra HD is like seeing through a window! I can get Ultra HD content over the internet. I was also able to hook it up to my sound system easily through the optical audio cable output. I love my new TV.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, fast processing

What an upgrade.

So, after 5 years of my beloved Samsung Plasma 720 television, I made the upgrade to the 4k/3d/all the bells & whistles. At first, it was too clear, too fast and too much for my eyes but, as I adjusted through the help of my video game system, I fell in love.
First with the Smart Remote, as I could lay on the couch in any configuration and still change channels and inputs. Then, from the amazing image and clarity of online streaming, just with 4k used less bandwidth, that was a surprise.
I haven't had the chance to fully immerse myself with the Live 3D features but, as soon as Prometheus 3D Blue Ray arrives, I'll be all over it. The set up feature seems easy enough to follow. Not being a big fan of 3D, it was more a perk for my girlfriend and roommates than me.
But, all in all, this television, for me, was the perfect upgrade. I'm sure a 55 or 60" would be nicer but, the image is perfect for me. Cheers and best in your shopping.

Almost overwhelming, the first day we watched it seemed like the actors were jumping out of the screen because the picture is so sharp and detailed, ultra high def it is.

Bought this after looking at cheaper slightly bigger tv's but I'm glad I went for it. Amazing picture quality better than my friends song that cost way more.

I bought this 50" as an upgrade to a 3 year old (then) top of the line 46" Samsung SmartTV. Frankly all I was looking for was a TV that would "max out" the space I have in my great room built-in cabinetry. But given my previous experience with Samsung, I never for a second considered an alternative, I loved my old TV.
The specs for the UN50HU8550 fit my space needs perfectly. I knew it would have a great picture and Samsung's excellent SmartHub so I figured I was good to go. And oh by the way, it also has that UHD thing, but that wasn't really a priority....boy was I wrong!!!
The picture quality on this TV is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I don't know if it's the upconverting of HD to UHD, three year newer LED technology or possibly magic pixie dust. I really don't care...it's just amazing how good it is. Sports, movies, network programming, heck even the local news all look fabulous. And I've had the opportunity to see some native UHD programming (check out NetFlix and Amazon Instant Video) and it's even more incredible, as you would expect!
And while I liked the SmartHub implementation of my older Samsung, the new SmartHub on this TV is much better. Plus the SmartControl remote is a brilliant piece of technology making interaction with apps easier and faster.
Frankly, I can't imagine a better TV, now or in the near future. If this TV is on your list, stop reading right now and go buy it. You can thank me later!
