Great Features

It was hard to find a stove that had the features I wanted in the free standing model. I live in a condo and I do not have outside venting so I have not been able to use self clean features that burn off the cooking residue in the oven. This new "Steam Clean" does not set off the smoke detectors so I can finally have a clean oven!

Very Nice Range

I have had this range for four months now, and I think the range is really nice. It works well, the oven heats quickly and it looks nice. I changed from electric, and have not used gas until I bought this stove, and my only gripe and it is a big one, is that no one told me, and I did not read it in any reviews, is the amount of heat that a gas stove gives off. I have a very small kitchen and am now looking into returning or selling this stove because my kitchen gets at least 10-15 degrees hotter when I am cooking, to the point that my microwave fan kicks on all by itself, which I never knew it could do. It never did that with my electric range. So if you have not used gas before please take this into consideration. I love the stove, but it's no fun cooking in an oven. I think if I had a large kitchen it would not be so much of an issue.

Overall good range

We bought this in April of last year for kitchen reno. Didn't put in/use till august. Had to have technician come out after convection oven didn't cook turkey and simmer burner making noise. He adjusted both. Convection still just ok I use regular oven instead and simmer burner still goes poof, poof when it is on lowest level. If I turn it up it is too high. Bottom drawer is somewhat flimsy. Also hard to clean with having to remove middle grate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just bought it can't wait to start cooking!!!!!!! I know the stainless steel is easy to keep clean,I love that.Can't wait to try out the self cleaning oven.I feel like a kid with a new toy.I love GE products.

Very hard to clean

I bought this stove thinking it will be easy to clean. I wish I just bought ceramic top. The stain from high heat can not be removed. In addition, I need to scrub really hard with chemical to get the food stain removed after cooking.

The GE range I have cooks fantastically; baking I extremely like; the grill and the various features of the oven is overwhelmingly superb. I really, enjoy cooking; l like to cook and I look forward to using my range top and oven. This range is excellent!!

My new stove had to have the GE repair guy out as there was a faulty component in the lighting element mechanism for the oven. Now that it is fully functional, it is easy to use and heating is consistent. A major negative is the touch pad - it is impossible to keep clean as it picks up any oil from touching it and you can see it across the room. I've had other appliances which this is not as glaring. The same goes for the microwave, very hard to keep surfaces clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
