Horrible waste of money
on February 5, 2017

It is a basic Galaxy model phone, lack of SD card slot, removable battery non existent blah, blah, blah pretty standard stuff. The design of the phone is horrible the curved sides is supposed to make it cool and trendy, but it is a major flaw design which actually impacts the functionality of the phone, how many times do i hit a wrong letter by accident because of it, how many times is scrolling up or down harder than is should be. The keyboard on this phone sucks and it lags and gets stuck sometimes, my battery is poor and even when I don't use the phone for hours it will drop in 20 percent or more, by the end of the day im in the low 40's even when i haven't used it all day. Save your money don't buy into the propaganda of being cool because of the design of the phone. Go for functionality.

Amazing phone! I am so happy with my purchase

I original started out on a Samsung Captivate years ago, then tried the HTC Inspire and various iPhones, then back to the Galaxy S4... I have to say Samsung does not disappoint with the new S6 Edge. I am very happy with the quality/vibrancy of the new screen, and the curved edges make the phone very pleasing to the eye.
The phone is very fast and only ever lags when I have a lot of apps running in the background, which is easily fixed the new button the left bottom of the screen. You simply tap that left icon and you can easily close any or all apps recently used. The camera shortcut works well and is very fast (double tapping the home button).
Battery time depends on usage obviously (how often and how large the app), but after messing around with the phone setting it up for the first 2 days battery consumption is now normal. I have used the ultra power saving option when my phone was at 20% and I was able to use my phone for another 4-5 hours by using this.
I am super excited about the turbo charging feature and have used it many times on the first few days of heavy, higher than normal phone use. I had 4 hours of extra charge time in a matter of 10 minutes. This only works with the charger that comes with the phone. I use my old Galaxy S4 charger to charge it over night and bring my turbo charger with me to work etc... or keep it handy in the kitchen for a battery pick-me-up before heading out.
The clock feature that you can enable at night to show on the edge portion of the screen is handy and is pretty dim so as to not shine bright enough to keep you awake. It takes really nice photos, definitely better than the Galaxy S4 I had.
Calls sound amazingly clear, again much better than the S4. The sound for playing music etc is also much better IMO.
The cons I have personally observed for this phone are minor, and they definitely are not severe enough to keep me from loving this phone or keep me from recommending it.
Cons:
1. When using the auto feature for screen brightness, there is a drastic change and the screen is so dim it's barely usable. It does not really seem to adjust according to the brightness of the surrounding area you are using the phone in like it used to for me with my Galaxy S4. I am hoping they can change this with a future update since a lot of people are complaining.
2. The Edge feature is merely a novelty at this time and doesn't really serve a purpose except for the color coded notification for missed calls when the phone is face down. It doesn't seem to be nearly as useful as the edge on the Note Edge (multitasking). On the Galaxy S6 Edge it remains hidden unless you enable it while the phone is asleep. On that note, there aren't many edge screens yet to be downloaded, so I really don't use it much.
3. I miss a few of the features from the S4 like the ability to swipe without actually having to touch your screen (hand gesture) and the hover feature that allows you to see previews of text while hovering your finger over the screen.
4. When choosing phone color, be sure to note that the white pearl actually has an off white color to it, and "pearl" does not mean it has a muted glittery color. It shines off white with a hint of blue like a real pearl. Had I known this, I probably would have ordered the black.

Best Phone Ever

This is more than a smartphone, it's a piece of art. The feel in your hand is that of something far more substantial than that of an ordinary phone. The screen is stunning, the camera amazing, the software fantastic. If you are even considering a new phone, this is the one to get.

Had potential but missed the mark

Pros: Slim design
Nice gold/silver color
Decent camera
Cons: Battery life is terrible
No removable battery makes the above even worse
No SD expansion slot so when the OS takes up 6+GB, memory can go fast and requires frequent backups
The curved design just makes it easier for the screen to crack
Samsung apps cannot be uninstalled or even stopped from popping up with notifications (e.g., Samsung Pay)

I've had mine since Jan.2016 and it's been my go-to. It like it better than any other phones I've had and highly anticipated paying it off.

I have been using my Edge since it came out, i believe April of 2015, when I purchased. I have been a fan ever since. I would like the battery to last longer but realize I have a lot of battery draining apps I use on a daily basis. Lightweight and streamlined.... I have found great cases for it via Internet shopping. I am due for an upgrade now and not sure I want to go with an Edge 7 or not. I will probably hang on to this one until the bitter end.
