[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It helps with allergens (I was able to leave windows open in the room it's in.) and the odor from a new puppy. It's very quiet.

I purchased 4 of these units and am so happy with the product. I have a medical need and purchased these when covid hit the states. They run nearly 24/7 usually on setting #2. I vacuum the units as directed in the maintenence guide. It is shocking how much dust and particles it pulls out of the air. I will not live without these units now that I have them. I would like to add that I believe that the units have kept my family healthier. We do not get colds and flu as often as before. I have also noticed when the unit does get turned off for a day or two there is an odor that I didn't notice before using the purifiers. Turn the unit on #3 and the odors are gone. You'll love having controll over having a fresh smelling home. Still use the scented candles or oils but you won't need to!

I've been a Germ Guardian customer for years and the air purifiers work extremely well.
First, refurbished could mean it wasn't even used at all just opened so don't be scared away by that. You cannot beat the price for such a high quality hepa air filter system.
Second, easy setup and use. Also easy to clean. I clean the filter itself with a hand vacuum dusting brush and the unit with a dry microfiber cloth.
Third, the unit can be as quiet and dim or loud and bright as you can tolerate. Significant range. For such a large unit it's much quieter than I expected on the lowest setting.
Fourth, performance is excellent. I keep it in the dining room and if I'm cooking 30 feet away in the kitchen it will sense the air quality change in less than a minute of food starting to crisp not even burn or char. At all times of day I have watched it for a few minutes and I honestly can't detect the slightest bit of dust or dander in the air since starting this unit.
Our house is 3 levels with 5 bedrooms. We have a table top unit on the third floor, another on bottom floor, and this unit on the main level. So that might give you some perspective of the space this unit can handle. Take into account we have the other units but I think this one can handle the whole house on its own. We prefer the overlap since we have a cat and have a decent amount of woods, trees, and plants that bring pollen all through the house.
Highly recommend you opt for the more cost effective yet still high performance GermGuardian Factory Refurbished RAC9400W Hi-Performance Console Air Purifier with HEPA Filter if money is an issue but you still require a larger unit.
