It's a Good Machine

So far we are finding this machine to be a good purchase. It cleans the clothes well, uses much less water than our prior top load and has many custom settings. We like the stainless drum vs. a porcelain or plastic drum. The overall appearance is nice and we purchased the drawer to go under it, which is a great place to store all kinds of household cleaning products (keeping them out of sight but in a convenient location in our laundry room). The washer has two things which could be improved. The detergent dispenser drawer always has water remaining in it. This is a nuisance because we don't have a sink in our laundry room. Instead of emptying it we just put the detergent in there, but that makes the detergent go above the "max" line. So far we haven't seen a problem from that but it should be corrected. Second - we have to leave the door open to dry out the seal and interior so it doesn't get a smell - something which has to be done with most front loads. But since this is "normal operating procedure" for this style of washer there should be a clip which holds the door open but doesn't require it to be open all the way. Putting these small things aside, this is a well functioning washer with very nice features. it's quiet when it's washing and it cleans well.

Disappointed

Bought this washer at the end of July 2014. At first was very impressed with it. By Feb. 2015 a horseshoe shaped pin of some kind appeared in my completed laundry. Thinking it might have come from something left in a pocket, I quizzed my family but no one had ever seen it before. Within a couple of weeks another mysterious pin again appeared on top of my finished laundry. We decided to have a repairman from the appliance store look at it. Much to our extreme disappointment, he informed us that the whole drum was coming undone and would need repair equal to the cost of the new washer! While it is still under warranty, we have no faith that it will last long after repair. It's hard to believe this machine could go bad under normal use in such a short period of time. We wish we had purchased a top loading machine of another brand.

Very Dissatisfied

I have had this machine for one year now. My clither never smell fresh. I have to clean the machine once a month. I have to use the pre-wash, do small loads to help with the process of making my clothes clean. This setting takes a hour and 15 min. Too long. Too much energy to do a load of clothes. Would love to return them if iwas able.

Good wash, poor detergent drawer design

I bought this in Feb, 2015 based on research and reviews (professional & personal) of this washer. It seemed good when first installed although my wife did not like the push-button door (takes some getting used to). We noticed right away that the detergent container in the drawer would always have water in it after the wash completed. After a few weeks, the detergent drawer became difficult to open, having to bang on the top or even pry it open. The drawer would also pop open intermittently during the wash cycle. I would like to know if and how Electrolux plans on correcting this design issue that seems to affect many of the reviewers. Electrolux response will determine further purchases as well as how long we keep this one.

I bought this june 2014 and july 2015 the mother board had to be replaced. Electolux did authorize the store it was purchased from to replace and in stall with no cost to us. We also bought the dryer and I have issues with the the timed dry. No happy to have issues just over a year into it.

Great washer

I purchased an Electrolux washer and dryer after reading a lot of reviews and talking to sales staff at a variety of stores. I began to look seriously at this brand after talking to another customer in a big box store who was shopping for a washer and dryer to replace another brand she purchased just days before and found completely unsatisfactory. She mentioned that a friend advised getting Electrolux. Staff in a local appliance store told me that this was the brand they personally owned. I purchased pedestals for both machines which was an excellent decision. Loading clothes into the washer and transferring them to the dryer is very easy at pedestal height. The drawers are great for laundry supplies and socks in need of a match. A big plus is the light in the washer -- a feature that may be unique to Electrolux. The washer is very quiet, even during maximum spin cycles. These appliances are in the cellar, so I did not have any concerns about vibration. What I have observed is that the washer is not shaking or moving anything I have placed on top when in the spin cycle. I do wipe the door and gasket after every load and leave the door open when not in use and there is not any odor, as some reviews of front loaders note. The door does remain wide open (I can't just leave it ajar), which is not a problem since the washer is in the basement. There is some water that accumulates in the soap dispenser after use, but it's easy to dump out. I don't consider it an issue. There are a multitude of programmed cycles, but I can easily alter the selections such as changing wash temperature. I like and often use the prewash and extra rinse cycles. The controls are very easy to understand and use. The washing machine easily handled a full/queen comforter and routinely cleans very large loads of laundry -- at least twice as much as I would have put in my old center agitator washer. It is also far more gentle. Towels that had hems coming apart in my old washer have not lost a thread in the new washer. I did experience clothes coming out of the dryer looking somewhat wrinkled -- especially when I did larger or high spin loads. I realized that it's because the clothes come out of the washer with almost all the water spun out. I simply shake clothes before putting them in the dryer. (It's not necessary with towels.) It's a small extra step, but not an issue considering that I am doing half as many loads of laundry each week. My recent electric bill was substantially lower than the previous month, but some of that may be because I went to the laundromat while deciding what I wanted to buy. I'm very happy with the decision I made.

I bought this appliance a couple months ago because of a recommendation of a friend. I have not had one issue. I love all of the features it has to offer. My favorite is the sanitize setting. It is perfect for bath towels and work clothes. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I never thought I'd say that . . . but I have never had a washer that does such a fine job, quickly, quietly, leaving clothes nearly dry, with incredible capacity for washing queen-sized comforters and with room to spare, allowing me so many choices (but still very easy to use) of washing time, water temperature, energy saving . . . Electrolux will be my make of choice when I need to purchase any other appliances.
