OK - it WILL arrive damaged.

It took 3 shipments and almost a month to receive an (almost) un-damaged set of parts. It was a bit of a bear to put together and the top took some WD40 and 2 days of being weighted down before it would shut preoperly. It looks nice (espeyfpe the price) once together, but having to leave the parts unassembled for a month until they could finally pull off sending non-defective parts was a major drawback. Knowing what I know now, I would not purchase this item, but now that I've gone through the ordeal to obtain it and assemble it, it works for the space I need it (for now). The color is very dark brown (almost black). There are no red undertones at all, which I like. The bottom piece is thin plywood. The back panel is finished but flat (not the same design as the other 3 sides).
