Gas Range

Used our brand new oven for the first time today (Thanksgiving) and it was everything that we had hoped for in a gas range. We hope to cook many more holiday meals with our new Whirlpool gas range.

I waited 8 weeks for this to be delivered and hooked up. It was absolutely worth waiting for. I love the large burners and precise control of this gas range! I have had Whirlpool appliances that lasted 23 years. I hope this one has a long life too.

Gas range

One of the top grids did not sit level on the range, new ones were ordered and that fixed that problem. The grids are gray, anything that gets on the grids burns in quickly, I scrub with non scratch pads, soft scrub and nothing takes the black marks off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice looking stove/oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first gas stove. We are so glad we switched from electric to gas. It is easy to use and the knobs are great to know when the gas is on or off. The grates are easy to remove to clean. After wiping down use microfiber to shine it back like new. We love the two stoves, mostly using the small one is great rather than heating up the large one. Having
both for holidays will be great.

All weaknesses found. Pretty on arrival..until.

We purchased the full Whirlpool Black ice setup, fridge, microwave and this double oven. They look so pretty when you first get them. But if you have more than two kids and cook often, you need to enjoy that first week of how pretty they are. This review is for the oven only, so I will limit it to that.
Pros:

Cons:
Burners are really small. Do not think that you were going to get four big pots on that cooktop. The back control panel juts out over the cooktop so that you cannot get pots on the back burner‘s when you’re using the front burners.
The writing for the control knobs is put on there with the wimpiest paint, that was gone in the first year. If you have to clean up grease or a mess the paint comes right off. The next owner will not know how to ignite the burners.
While I’m on the topic of the knobs, my 5’3” wife while reaching for the above Whirlpool microwave often bumps the gas knobs and turns gas on for hours without knowing! Headache city!
Inside the oven, the grey metal covers that cover the burners have heated and warped, and pop off every time we use the oven now. We just leave them unsecured now, we got tired of trying to keep them on.
Lastly, if you love gas because your mom used to always cook during a power failure, don’t buy this. There is a gas-lock safety system that prevents gas from flowing when power is out. Boo. Give me the burners at least!

For the high dollars we shelled out for this range, we were not pleased. We LOVE to cook, and I had hoped to make my wife happy, not annoyed.
