Negative feedback should be taken lightly at most

I got this case for my Surface Pro 3, as I have had several Otterbox products, and have been extremely satisfied by all of them. I did not realize that Otterbox mad cases for anything other than phones, ipads, and kindles, so I was very happy to find they made a case for the Surface Pro 3.
The case has superior coverage, goes on easily, whether or not you use the kickstand regularly. The corners to release the kickstand are a little stiff, but if they were less the kickstand could come free by itself and get damaged during a drop. I have read reviews where the metal tab on the type cover case and main part were thought to be a button, and it is not, therefore pressing the metal; "button" to open will have no effect. it opens easily, and the type cover part of the case fits perfectly with the other side. Without the type cover case, the Surface is still quite protected, and combined with a tempered glass screen protector, is still fully protected. I use the seam where the kickstand folds out to use the stylus, when I use it, but I do not always use the stylus.
I have accidentally dropped my Surface Pro 3 with the case on on a few occasions, with and without the protected type cover and associated part of the case on it. in all occasions there was no damage to the equipment, and the case has barely any evidence of taking a drop.
While out in public with my Surface Pro, I have had several people ask me where i got my case and how I like it. I always love seeing the positive and surprised reactions when I tell them that it is an Otterbox. I have a sticker showing it is an Otterbox on it, and now just get questions on if I like it, to which I tell those people I love it.
The only negative feedback I can give is that the opening to allow for the charger to connect to the Surface Pro 3 is a snug fit with the default charger, and does not allow charging via the connector on the mobile dock, unless you open the kickstand, just as with the desktop dock for the Surface Pro 3. if the opening was changed to be a little less snug, and to fit the mobile dock, this would be a perfect product in my opinion, and could only be improved by adding a spot to securely keep the stylus when not being used.

The plastic scratches easily and looks worn just one week later. The slot on the side is too small to accommodate the docking station plug. In order to open the kickstand, a tremendous amount of force is required which bends and will eventually break it. The rubber cover over the buttons is too stiff and makes it very difficult to tell if they have been pressed. The case is also very expensive...and not worth the cost in my opinion. Disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Otter box SP3 case is not user friendly. The Otter box was difficult to put on the SP3, I was concerned I would crack my screen. If you want to use the kickstand or in a dock, you must remove the Otter box in 2 different places. Why have case you have to take on and off? Plus the design for the kickstand not well thought out, if you look at the case while on the kickstand it applies a substantial amount of pressure - warping the kickstand, which I feel could break it at some point. I have since returned the SP3 Otter Box. I love my Otter Box for ipad and iPhone!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have really enjoyed my surface Pro 3. It is not a perfect device but it is darn great... and I love the design and function of the surface pro 3. SO..Thank you for creating such a solid protective product that doesn't (in any way I have detected so far) impede the intended design/function of the surface pro product. This is a well done case. Thanks for taking the care and time to get this right. I agree that the fit is snug on the kick stand when closed but I would rather have secure than just flopping open when wanting to use in tablet mode. Great design also in allowing for use with the surface pro dock (which I don't have yet but would hope to have someday ). Thanks Otterbox.

Pretty decent case however....

Overall the product of the case is pretty and offers full protection of the surface pro 3 especially with the type cover on. Every seemed great until I realized how hard it was to release the kickstand from the tablet. I have heard other people having the same complaint as I did. This product would have received 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that it is somewhat difficult to release the kickstand due to the case being extremely tight. That is the only problem that I hope could be fix. Other than the that the case is pretty decent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Solid case. Will protect corners. Clear plastic scratches easily. Difficult to pop surface in and out of bottom of case for kickstand ro dock use.

I bought it a week ago. Great case, solid. Does not add much width to the surface. Two thoughts the Pen slot is needed and the kickstand is a bit stiff with the rubber stoppers in place. I think the kickstand will work out though, it is still brand new.
