A Lemon! Don't buy it.

I purchased this toaster last September (6 months ago), and it's now toast (forgive the pun). A few months after I had it, the left side lever refused to stay down. Even if I tried to hold it down, it wouldn't heat. Yesterday the right lever did the same thing, so now I get to throw it away. Even before that, it took forever to toast even though it claims to have 1500 watts, and the settings were close to meaningless. Our household consists of just my husband and me, no one to treat this fragile appliance roughly, no reason for it not to function properly. I'll be looking for a different brand to replace this lemon.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
