I bought JUL sound bar to try it out and expected little out of it. But after set up and tried out and compared with my old 5 speakers system, I could not tell the different. Besides, it doesn't need receiver. I absolutely recommend this sound bar to everyone.

This JBL SB300 system is a brute; Its sound quality is unparalleled. Being that it is indeed a soundbar system, my jaw was left hanging the first time I cranked it up. The unit is solid, it doesn't feel cheap, and its heavy; I like heavy.
It was extremely easy to install, and even though it doesn't have HDMI, I can't tell a difference between that and Digital Optical. Having said that, I dearly wish this Death Star(looks like Darth Vaders Helmet) had Bluetooth. I had to buy an additional receiver but I'm OK with the sound quality vs. bloated features trade-off of other sound bar units.
Last but not least, the sound quality of this unit just gets better the longer you play it. After about 1-1/2 weeks of playing it loudly a couple hours a night, the sound of the subwoofer became more conjoined with the soundbar. It went from extremely loud and boomy to silky and had a very natural balance.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with the performance of this unit. And honestly, I don't see spending another $550 on the new unit just for the functionality of Bluetooth and HDMI. I'll keep my Death Star.

We bought a JBL SB300 Sound Bar and subwoofer as part of a new home theater system. I like the look and the sound quality is good. I'm an old JBL fan from years ago. When we had new digital cable installed, I learned that the SB300 cannot be controlled with a universal remote. This is the first I learned of this - there is no warning or information on the packaging or user manual. I never would have made this purchase if I had this knowledge. In this era of universal remotes, it is crazy to have to use the small and minimally responsive remote JBL provides with the unit. I called JBL tech support and was told that there is no fix for this problem. I'm hoping JBL contacts me with a solution to my problem so that I can write a positive review to offset this one.

I boght this to replace a terrible sound bar I had. It was low bass and terrible surround simulation; I won't mention the nmr but it starts with Pinnacle :-). It was terrible, very tinny and no bass! The JBL system is 10x better than this and oly cost twice as much. The wireless connected blue tooth subwoofer was easy to install! I never had to read a single direction! Every now and the I have to restart it with remote because it has distortion but I believe this is it having proble sync up with the TV (Samsung). I used the digital interface and seems to work find (as opposed to the RCS L/ R connector). Definitely recommend it in to others seeking a good quality sound with strong base!

Poor quality remote

I purchased the SB300 to replace the system I had and loved the sound. The big big problem I do have with the system is the remote. At first it didn't work and it had to be replaced. Then the new remote worked some of the time or not at all. For a system that is somewhat expensive I would think the remote would be a quality piece of the equipment. If I knew about it before I made such an expense, I would not have purchased it.
