I purchase this unit. Have used it now 4 times. It cooks so hot that it even boils the liquid turned down to the warm setting. I wrote to Crock Pot to see if this is typical or a malfunction of the one I purchased. I will be returning. I wanted slow cooked meals not BOILED.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback as it is greatly appreciated. Both the low and high settings will reach a maximum temperature of approximately 215 degrees Fahrenheit, but they cycle differently in that the low setting cycles off of that temperature more frequently. Therefore, the High setting will still cook the food in a shorter period of time than the Low setting will. On the warm setting, your Crock-Pot will be between 165 degrees and 175 degrees Fahrenheit. Please remember that these are all approximate temperatures and they can vary depending on what you are cooking. The Crock-Pot can also boil on High and Low. We do recommend that you always fill your slow cooker at least 2/3 - 3/4 of the way full, including at least one cup of liquid or sauce. You may have to adjust your cook times accordingly, especially if you are using older Crock-Pot recipes, or adapting regular recipes for Crock-Pot use. This will prevent the food from drying out and burning.
We will be happy to forward your comments to the product team.

I bought this because of the stove top feature. My grandchildren love slick dumplings. I have always cooked my meat in the crockpot but then I would have to pour the juice into a stove top pan to make the dumplings. Extra step & more dirty dishes. NOW, all I have to do is cook the meat in this new crock pot, remove the meat, add water, place stove top cooking pot right on the stove top and make my dumplings! Even better.....NONE of the dumplings got stuck! This has to be the best idea ever! Have not tried the browning feature but I love it so much,I ordered another one!

I love the ability to brown meats on the stove top and the fact that the stoneware is oven safe. The lid is not oven safe, can Crock-pot please offer an oven safe add-on lid option? Thank you!

I was very excited to get this crockpot. The ability to sear meat and then use it as a slow cooker is ideal.
Unfortunately because the pot is not stone it cooks faster and it's far hotter than my stoneware crocks and my recipes are turning out with less sauce/liquids and much drier. Yes, I'm adapting but it's hit or miss with some tried and true recipes.
So, I bought another stoneware crockpot and only use this one with recipes that need the seared meat or are newer.
Pros: great controls, can sear meats
Cons: gets too hot and recipes turn out drier

It's much too hot and I don't like the little "hole" opening in the lid. I have an old Rival that's cylindrical which continues to remain perfect for over 40 years. I wanted to add an oval shape to add and I really hate this one. I will likely give it away and try another brand. Very disappointed as I

This crock pot is perfect. I love that you can put the "pot" on the stove to brown meat without dirtying another pan; it is also very light, not heavy like the crockery pots. The timer is great too, although i wish it could be set to start at a specific time - as it is, while you can set the cooking time, you cannot set a starting time, so you have to turn it on before you leave it. As with all crock pots, the lid leaves something to be desired. It is glass which is good to see through, but the metal rim and the screwed-in handle allow food residue to build up easily. But i do not regret purchasing this pot, it is perfect for me and the price was right. And one more thing...all the other reviews I read said the folks got their pots on a test/trial basis for free...how do i sign up for such a bargain??
Pros: light and easy to lift and carry, love the stove-top pot
Cons: timer does not provide a starting time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this model to be a great asset to my kitchen routine. The ability to transfer the pot straight from the stove top to its base, made preparing easy and the Dura ceramic coating, made cleaning up my meal, a breeze. Not to mention the easy to use digital display panel, that let set me set the time and temperature at the press of a button. Definitely worth the investment for those that want a great meal, but might think they don't have the time, with this model you can have both. As a disclaimer,I did receive this product as a sample to review, however I genuinely enjoyed using this product and know that you will, too.
Pros: easy to use, easy to clean
