Worst washing machine we have ever purchased. The water efficiency takes away from getting your clothes cleaned. Even on soak mode the clothes are barely damp. Time to go back to the old fashion models that use more water.

Response from geappliances.comBy MeganatGE, GE Appliances, March 4, 2016
Hello Browns81,
This is Megan at GE Appliances. I am sorry to hear that you are not pleased with your washer. Unfortunately, the efficiency requirements are from the government and apply across manufacturer's. However, we have designed the unit so that it should still clean your clothes. Please be sure to use HE detergent and not to overload the machine.
Please see the video at the following link for a demo: http://bcove.me/ctzsm2p7
You can also check your manual on page 8 for the appropriate load size: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90537-2.pdf
Please keep in mind that clothes should be loaded loosely.
I hope these tips are helpful. Thank you for taking time to review!

Looks great but washing - not so much

Have had this washer for several months and constantly get detergent and/or rinse agent residue on clothing. No cycle option or variation in rinse settings seems to make any difference. The instructions recommend doing another rinse cycle to correct for this problem but why should I always have to run my laundry thru the machine twice? If more water is the answer to this problem, you should have provided a user-selectable water level control but unfortunately that is the only function that is totally controlled by the machine.

I bought it about ten months ago and I regret it.The water level barley covers the load .Parts of the clothes remain dry and stained with soap. The hot cycle does not dispense hot water. Can't use its real capacity because of water level.GE technicians couldn't fix it.

I hate this washing machine.

We purchased this washing machine in April 2016, after doing extensive research. I cannot say how disappointed we are. We have a GE Profile washer at another home that has worked fine for 12 years. This new model is so lightweight that I cannot wash one set of sheets without it getting out of balance. (And we are sure that it is level.) Why make a machine that plays music but can't wash a medium size load of clothes without making terrible noises and having to re-adjust the position of the clothes during the cycle? I am terribly disappointed in the quality of this washer. Put less money in your marketing campaign and more into building a quality machine that does the job. I will be replacing this machine as soon as possible.

So far so good

I bought this washer as an alternative to the two front loaders I owned previously. The tub is very large but is a bit higher than other washers I considered. I'm 5'3 and can reach to the bottom of the tub of this GE. Its a great looking machine. As with any of these high efficiency washers, don't let the large tub fool you. If you overload it, you will have trouble getting your clothes clean. I would also suggest using the appropriate wash cycle unless you are in a real hurry. It just gets the clothes cleaner. The dryer is pretty nice also but a dryer is a dryer to me. The video on the website says that the washer "speaks" to the dryer to let it know what dry cycle to use for this load but haven't figured that one out yet. I'm happy with my purchase so far. Definitely the large tub that is accessible by a short person was the most attractive feature for me.
I would recommend this to a friend!
