Dishes come out so clean!

This dishwasher cleans dishes so well! We have hard water and also have a water softener, so this combines with this dishwasher, we barely have to even rinse the dishes before going in. It is amazingly quiet and just makes a humming sound. It has a nice 'secret tray' as we call it above the top rack for long skinny utensils. Love that. Two things that could be improved/added are better dish drying on the heated dry cycle and I wish it came with a wine glass rack so I don't have to wash the wine glasses by hand.

We choose the GDT590ssjss after shopping around and looking at other similar models from GE and other companies. The features that sold us on this product were the 3 level racks, hard food disposer/filter, steam pre-wash, and the hidden controls at the top edge of the door; and at a price slightly lower than comparable models. At this time, we've been running the unit all night with out any issues. I've had to check on it because I can barely hear it running, only making a gentle humming sound. Which is so much quitter than our decade old unit this one replace, which sounding like a storm hit our house each time it ran.
We self installed the unit, the installation was pretty straight forward and the installation guide was spot on with easy to read instructions and very helpful illustrations.
In ending, I feel I got great value for my money with this product and put GE appliances back on the map for me, enough that we are even considering one of their refrigerators as our next purchase. This unit preform very well, super quite, looks pretty good, and is real easy to use and set up. The real test will come in over the next months, as the holidays are here and this shiny baby going get quit the workout.

Just used it once so far, and while it hadn't completely finished the Sanitize cycle, it must have turned off the heat and the inside of the washer remained very wet as well as some of the very hot dishes. I hoping this was my fault for opening the door too soon

This is by far the nicest dishwasher I have ever owned. Great product, excellent functionality, very nice looking too. The silverware basket is great for larger handled knives and etc. and love the top rack for utensils.

Love, love, extra pull out tray for larger utensils. Best idea ever!! This was my buying decision even though I had a budget for a couple hundred dollars more, I chose this one. I also know that GE is a very well made product. I've had my GE Refrigerator for 18 years now, I have been waiting and waiting for it to die so can get a new modern one. IT WON'T DIE!! My parents have a GE that is 25 years old, running strong.
