I love my new artistry dishwasher!

I love the deep dish basket and my favorite part about the dishwasher is that there is a silverware basket on the door! So every time I have a dirty spoon or knife I don't have to open the dishwasher in tirely and pull the rack out in order to put a piece of silverware in the basket!

Best bang for the buck.

For the price paid, this washer is unbeatable. It has all the features - garbage disposal, steam cleaning, etc. We installed it ourselves, fairly straight forward. I use generic brand detergent and various wash feature combos. Dishes come out spotless. The only down side is that even the "norma" cycle takes about 3 hours to complete with drying. Not a big deal, but worth a mention.

I wanted to love this dishwasher because it had a plain kind of retro look to it which we liked for our "new" 1959 rancher when we moved in 8 months ago. Sadly, it is my least favorite dishwasher from the maybe 10 I have used frequently. The silverware basket is on the door and is easy to knock off of where it hangs. Knives in the basket have kept the soap door from opening so a whole wash was wasted twice until we figured out the cause of the problem. The basket is also incredibly undersized. I have never seen one this small. The upper and lower racks are the most poorly designed I have ever had to load. The top rack doesn't seem to hold as much because the "rows" overlap. There seems to be little thought to what is actually going in them. I can't put regular dinner plates side by side in the lower rack because there is not enough width. What happened with the design? It does run fine - long in some cycles - but the poor design features make it an everyday annoyance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My husband and I did a decent amount of looking around when we moved into a new house with an old dishwasher, and we liked the reviews we read on this model. It has been everything it was reviewed to be and more. It holds an excellent number of dishes, and is well arranged so that everything gets cleaned nicely, even on the normal setting. The front utensil holder is large and very useful and we love the top extra racks for holding kids' sippy cup tops and other small items that otherwise tend to get lost in the dishwasher. The utensil holder is also good for holding straws upright and getting them clean, which is also great for toddler cups. It runs very quietly overall, and while we haven't tried the heated dry cycle, the dishes do dry out fine if you open it and let everything air for a while after each load finishes. As other reviewers have said, the auto-sense option does take almost two hours to wash, but the "normal" setting seems to do fine in only about 75 minutes. We really liked this dishwasher because the top buttons are less visible to toddlers, and that's a HUGE plus for us, because they constantly wanted to play with the front buttons on our other dishwasher. The buttons do make a small chime when pressed, but it's easy to lock and unlock, so it keeps the kids from unnecessarily starting things or changing settings. We got ours on sale, at a great price for such a wonderful product. We have been extremely happy with it so far, and look forward to getting years of use out of it.

Great new features

This new dishwasher replaced my old GE that I had for many years. Wonderful new features - the holder for wine glasses - the option to wash either upper or lower - the utensil holder. Racks are deeper than the old one and it is SO QUIET.

Cleans dishes very well and is very quiet

I decided to replace my dishwasher because my other one wasn't cleaning my dishes very well. I've only had this dishwasher since Jan. 12th but so far, it's so much better than my other dishwasher. It's so quiet that I sometimes forget it's even on. The dishes come out sparkling and shiny. I had to rewash my glasses with the old dishwasher because if I drank water from them it would taste funny. I also love the feature where you can choose to wash either the top or bottom racks. The only two things that I don't like are that the racks seem smaller so there isn't as much room for dishes as my old dishwasher and that the inside of the dishwasher seems to be made of cheap plastic. It's not as sturdy as my other dishwasher.

Stylish with easy access to control panel

We just had DW installed yesterday and it makes our kitchen complete with our GE Artistry stove and refrigerator. Looks very nice! Love all the features on this dishwasher.
