Easy Installation

Replaced a 30+ year old range - this new unit dropped right in and worked perfectly - would recommend to anyone needing a 30" cooktop. Plus looks very modern and heats up amazingly fast.

Update - Upgrade

Got this cooktop for a kitchen remodel, replacing a 40+ year old electric coil cooktop. This is SO MUCH BETTER!!! So easy to clean - the sample of ceramic cooktop cleaner has worked great! We chose the dark color with the speckles - have never had an issue with it looking dirty, as I had heard people say about black appliances. The only "weird" issue is the placement of the knobs - but this could just be me! I don't intuitively reach for the correct knob for the desired burner, so I inevitably end up turning the wrong burner on. The other issue with the knobs - it's hard to tell which end of the knob is the pointing end - the temperature that has been selected. I used a silver Sharpie to put a dot on the "active" side and that has helped. All in all - I love it!

Broke too soon!

I had the range installed and within no time a bottle of olive oil fell over hitting the edge of the glass and broke the corner off! I wouldn't think it would break so easily!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks and Cooks Great

My 18 year old electric coil GE cooktop kicked the bucket last week and we bought the new GE smooth top as a replacement unit. The cutout and junction box were already in place so after squaring off the rounded corners of the original cutout, installation was a snap. It's a pleasure to look at and the controls are as simple as you can get. My wife is thrilled with the new unit!
