Excellent value!

I install high-end security cameras, so I know a little about them. While I would love to have a ring of them around my house, the price of this entire kit cost half of what one of those cameras do. While the video from the cameras are not extreme high-res, they are certainly good enough for home security! I added one more camera from a third party that had a zoom lens for a specific area that I wanted a close-up video of, and Defender didn't offer one. The DVR supports it fine! I love the smartphone support as well. There are still a few things I'm learning, but if you are looking for serious "bang for your buck," this is it!

This is my second system through defender and it is user friendly and a great product for a great price. Lost my first unit in a lightning storm so I do recommend a surge protector which is the case for all camera systems anyway. Great improvement on the mount options on cameras. (Wall or ceiling). I only gave a moderate rating on features because you have to navigate with a mouse that's baggy on DVR. Still a great deal though. No better deal out there

I have had the system for about 2 month. Upon receipt, I read the instructions and reviewed the information on the website. The installation and setup was easy. So far, I have been very happy with the product...particularly based on quality versus price.

I am very pleased with Pro Widescreen 8 channel system. When the system arrived the power adapter for the dvr was damaged. Emailed customer support and received a new one within 7 days. No questions asked. Thank you for that. Resolution is good for the money. DVR very simple to operate. Download the manual,then just point and click.

This is the second Defender unit I have purchased. The first was an SN500 4 unit which I used for 2 years and still have. The new unit is the Defender Sentinel Pro 21160 8 cameras 8 channel 2 TB hard drive. If you are going to buy a security system, spend the extra money and buy a Pro unit. The picture quality is very good in daylight and good at night. The cameras are sturdy, and the cable is fire rated. I have only had this unit about a week but am pleased with its performance. Installing the cameras and wiring

Very impressive! I had compared with various brands, but we came back to this over and over until we went for it and I'm glad we did! The clarity, the material and ease of operation prove this is a quality product! Make sure you have a professional install, because you may need extra wire etc., contingent upon your SQ footage. Thanks!

I purchased this product mainly based on other reviews. This product has a good price point for what was included. When I received the unit, I set it up and checked the camera function as well as the DVR. There were no issues. I proceeded with the install and again it was plug and play. No issues encountered. The software takes a little to get used to, but what software doesn't? Overall for the price I think you get what you pay for. I have not completed the networking portion yet (live view from another computer or cell phone). It was not plug and play. It will take some time to work through it, but I am sure I can get there. One thing that is a little disappointing is the sensitivity of the motion detection. In most cases it seems too sensitive even on minimum. Subtle changes in ambient light or even snow falling set it off resulting in numerous false alarms and clogs my email with useless photos. To be fair, I have not contacted Defender yet, but it is in the plan. But, I am still impressed with the system. It captures all activity and notifies me. So far I am very satisfied.
