Great System..Easy to Use

Had an older Defender system at my former home which was easy to use, had great picture quality, and had no issues while having for two plus years. Moved into another home and decided to get this system per the reviews. I've only had it installed for 1 week and it works great. The cameras are better than my older system and still easy to use with great picture quality. I had it professionally installed. The technicians could not believe that the system only cost $499. Would recommend!

bought system a few days ago and am very pleased with the system. I had some issues connection to my pc Michel at tech support help me. He did an outstanding job had me up and running in just a few minutes. Thank you

Although out Homeowners Associations has not fully installed the 8 cameras, it appears to perform as advertised based on out initial monitor and 1 camera setup.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Installation was a little tricky, networking was also a little tricky, but it was worth it because the wife feels much safer now

Nice system for a great price!

I had some vandalism done to my house so I decided to get a surveillance system. I shopped around the web for a system and the Defender had the best features for the money.
Decided to get the 8 channel system so I can add to it later. One of the reasons I like the Defender is the DVR has two terabytes. All the other systems had 500 Gigs or some of them you had to buy the hard drive separately. I also like the enhanced resolution of the cameras. Other systems didn't have the definition of the Defender nor did they have the widescreen view.
The installation was easier than I expected. I knew it was going to be about the same with any system. Ron Hazelton has a video on you tube that helped. It is definitely easier to run the wires through the basement than trying to run them through walls.
The picture is not 1080p but its better than the competition at this price. The widescreen is fantastic and it lets you cover a lot more of your property.
I was blown away with the night vision capability. In total darkness it looks bright as day!
Its comforting to be able to see all around the outside of my house. If the vandals come back they'll be in for a big surprise.

Good system

I bought the 16 channel 21161, which came with 8 cameras, and also bought two dome cameras. The cameras all look great. As others have said, running the wires is the hardest part. Connecting via the browser (from a Mac) and on the iPhone was not as reliable, but it does work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy setup, great picture, excellent product

I bought this system over a month ago. It was an easy install with all the items needed were in the box. After install, I checked out the picture and its clearer than any video I have seen from a security camera, during the daylight hours and even clearer at night.
I called support to help and me setup the system to send emails and they were very knowledgeable and helpful.

I was having trouble setting up and getting all camera's to work on phone and my other computer for when we travel. so I left a message and with-in a few hours they called me and I told them what I was having trouble with (forgot girl tec. support name) but she was great and in just a few minutes she had everything running perfect and now the wife is happy and a lot more secure thank you guy
