The nearest cell tower is several miles away and behind a ridge. The signal on the ground varies but is always less than 1 bar (-105 dB). We're the first in our neighborhood to get reliable and good quality phone connections with the 4G-X and a Wide-Ant4-X-MIMO (directional, broadband antenna) installed 45 feet above ground, in a ponderosa pine. The 75' of coax supplied with the kit suffices. Lightning is common in our area. I used a lightning arrestor on the antenna and #2 copper wire to ground it, attached to an 8' copper stake, installed in the ground. The signal generated by the 4G-X unit varies in strength between 2 and 4 bars. Sometimes, when the signal is weakest, we place the phone right next to the 4G-X internal antenna to get a clear phone connection. The signal switches back and forth from 1x to 4G/LTE, yielding slow and unreliable data connections. But the phone connection is good. The boosted cell signal suffices for burglar-alarm monitoring.

The 4G-X took us from no service to total access!

Our recently built home sits on a riverbank in the mountains. There was no usable cellular signal unless we traveled halfway up the mountain if we needed to make a call, text or check email. I had reservations about purchasing this product because the best detectable signal at our home was below that recommenced as a minimum. I took a chance and bought the system. The installation instructions were straightforward and the the install was not difficult. Bottom line: we now have strong 4G service in our home that gives us good phone, text, and email access, plus the ability to use the internet! Glad I took a chance!

Works very well, we could make calls but no one could hear us. Installed using a 20' mast for out side antenna and running cable thru the attic. I left booster in the attic and ran cable for the inside antenna thru the wall and came out of one of our a cable outlets. Went from not being able to make calls or recive them to 4 barsLTE. I did not have enough coax the rase the mast to 20 ft, called Wilson Tech support they sent me the other 10 ft of M400 coax and a female to female adapter at no charge. These people are the real deal. I highly reccomend Wilson SKU 471104 booster. Yes its pricey but you get what you pay for.

Receiving calls in our dead zone!

When I moved to a valley in the mountains with a metal-roofed home, I found that I could not get a signal on my older smartphone. Using my husband's, I could get 1-2 bars if I walked up the hill outside of our house. We both bought the latest model of smartphones, and were able to get 1 bar that faded in and out, and that was if we stood in one upstairs room and leaned into the window. We tried two different models of our mobile service's booster, but could not receive a signal on the equipment at all. It wasn't until I took a chance and purchased a Wilson booster (weBoost Connect 4G-X Cell Phone Booster Kit 471104) that we were able to consistently get 3 bars inside our house. The outside antenna is up in a tree, and we think we can ultimately find a better place for it, but it has been working for the last 6 months or so just fine. Sometimes we get a dropped call or have some trouble hearing a caller, but we can make and receive calls from anywhere in the house 90% of the time. A huge improvement over making calls outside (in the snow) or cramming into the corner of a window only to lose the call! I do not have a mobile version of the booster, but we live in a rural area and I've heard from someone locally that has one and loves it. I can highly recommend the indoor booster- it saved my sanity while I waited a few months for internet!

Background: T- mobile service...we were always right on the edge of useable service...2-3 intermittent bars...we installed a metal roof and that was the end of our service until......we found the weBoost Connect 4G-X. I am a retired mechanical engineer and licensed PE. Installation is super easy if you are handy with a ladder and hand tools. The components are simply top of the line. When it said "professional" in the details, they really meant it. The cable is the best I have ever seen. The connectors are finely crafted with thoughtful design for outdoor use. The amplifier is beefy and again well made. The inside antenna is discreetly designed as it should be. The setup was easy to do especially if you download a signal strength app and use it to find the best signals. And the free mast and lightning surge protector were icing on the cake. And unlike other "free" add ons from other purchases I have made, these freebies are again top of the line components. Do you have a signal problem at home? Invest in this system and you will be done with dropped calls forever. We get 5 bars everywhere in the house now. And anyone who visits our home gets their signal boosted as well. Nice job on this product weBoost!

No Cell Signal to Phone Calls, Text messages, & Emails

It has been about month or so since I have purchased this device. I was told not to buy this Product by weBoost but out of desperation I purchased this 4GX anyway. I live in a rural Hilly to Mountainous region in KY with my home down in a valley & I was unable to obtain internet or phone from the local providers. I could only make calls, text, or use data if I walked up my hill 400ft or so out of valley. I desperately needed a way to communicate and this device has helped greatly in descent to great weather. Keep in mind I had no signal to boost at all. The best reading I could get was -114 to -104 db in the valley and now I can get anywhere from -91 to -84 with spotty LTE which is better than nothing. Two bars with AT&T and Verizon. I will figure something out later for the Data but this is just what I need at the moment.

Great product but do your research

Be sure to do your research about your signal strength, tower locations, possible installation locations, etc. before buying any booster. WE Boost and Wilson Amplifiers are very prompt to answer your questions before you purchase a booster. I am in a rural area and chose the 4GX over the Connect 4G 470103 booster. I have recently switched from AT&T to Verizon. I have a company phone (basic phone) that is still on AT&T. Unless I walked outside the AT&T phone was almost useless and the new Samsung S7 Edge on Verizon was not much better. We recently installed a WE Boost Connect 4G 470103 at my office due to the building being all metal. The signal outside was about 82 dB at the office. Inside the signal is now OK but seems like the coverage area was limited. I was concerned that my whole house would not be covered (1800 sq. ft. ranch plus basement). I have the 4GX unit installed for one week now. I went from 0-1 bar to 3-5 bars everywhere in my home, even in my basement on Verizon and AT&T. I still don't have all 4 green lights on the unit but I have great signal indoors. I still have one orange light flashing on band 5 but the closest tower is almost two miles away and I am pointed 90 degrees from it. Orange lights can mean too close proximity to a cell tower. Beware the user manual and all vendors selling the 4GX as they still say 20 feet of vertical antenna separation or 50 feet of horizontal antenna separation is adequate. On a test run before permanent mounting I saw that I had flashing red lights meaning oscillation due to the antennas being too close to each other. WE Boost tech support directed me to installation videos that I had not found elsewhere that specifies 25 to 35 feet of vertical separation. Luckily I was mounting on an existing tower and am currently at 28 feet of vertical separation and 20 feet of horizontal separation which finally resolved the flashing red lights. These support videos about installation and the meaning of the lights go on to tell you not to worry about flashing lights (red or orange) as long as you have satisfactory signal coverage inside your home. What is really odd is that using the Cell Map and Open Signal apps to determine my actual signal outside and where it is the best (and also my phone status dB) as suggested by WE Boost videos, the higher I climbed on the tower, the worse the dB reading got (110 to 115 dB). So I was very surprised to see such great signal indoors. WE Boost typically wants a minimum of 105 dB outside signal but prefer less for their boosters to work. I am now suspect of the apps and the orientation of your cell phone when trying to use these apps. Open Signal would point to a AT&T tower even though I was looking for a Verizon tower. All in all a good experience but take your time to do before purchase research. Since I had to mount the antenna so high on my tower, I am going to install a lightning arrestor. Plan your installation options and try some temporary antenna locations with cables running through the windows and across the floor before installing anything permanently. Proper hardware installation is just as or more important than the actual hardware itself.
