Do not purchase

Laptop PC remover(Ultimate) moved only some files, not all. It corrupted the new computer(not viruses) and HP tech support was required. Had to do a system restore. Why we were sold this product is beyond me. Microsoft has a product installed or downloadable called Easy Mover which worked.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I didn't want to move everything from my old computer to the new one. I am not an expert, but definitely not a beginner either. After going through all the directories, I decided I would probably screw up by moving the wrong thing or not the right things. After reading the disclaimers on the box, I decided it would be safer and better to do it the old fashioned way, that is , install the programs and just copy the data on the new computer

waste of time and money

I bought the PCmover software thinking that it would save me time migrating to my new pc, but I was very disappointed. The direct connect cable method never secured a socket between the pcs and I ended up having to use my network. I also still had to load my office CDs in order to use any office applications. Essentially the only thing that this bundle did for me was to move the music of one user to the new PC. No other user accounts were moved, and I still had to install other applications such as antivirus and printer software manually. I'm not a PC novice, and I'm really disappointed in how this software worked. I will not use it again!

Can get you confused

This program can get you confused in a hurry and mess up your installation to a new or different machine, was suppose to be a walk in the park. you better have 72 hours for your walk. I techs I talked to at HP (in whatever country they were in) did not understand English all that well and after a couple of hours with two different techs I was switched to another person.

Had trouble right from the start. Local PC guy did the job for me at half the price. Could be I just didn't know what I was doing.

Way over priced, difficult to use, comes loaded with 3rd party programs that recommend you try them, such as reg cleaner which scans then shows 252 errors and to "fix" them you have to buy it or they will fix 15 free. Messed up my old computer and had a heck of a time getting it to run again. I knew I didn't have all those errors I had just run advanced system care 4 and was double checking it. Went to their web site and customer support, that was a real joke, no help at all and took them days to reply. Spent way too much time working through that mess.

I never got this to work. the cable did not connect my pc's properly and when I did get some connection speed going, the software did not work properly. I could not get it to work with windows xp. finally, in some obscure help menu, I received instructions on how to make the software compatible with windows. Unfortunately, by this time, my old pc was not willing to participate in the transfer. Ended up using the mover software that comes with windows 7.
