getting to know you!

Chose this range because it seems to have some very useful upgrades to my last GE appliance (2004). So far, I am really enjoying the 20,000 BTU burner, ease of cleaning, and the middle burner. Haven't tried the griddle/grill feature or the temperature probe. But, I am looking forward to Sunday griddle cakes and Thanksgiving experimentation, for sure! So, so far - so good!

We had purchased a home with a glass top electric range. I knew immediately that this thing "had to go". I needed a gas stove. We purchased this GE Profile series. It was my second choice, but my first choice of another brand would not work out. So far this range is doing a marvelous job. I use the griddle daily. I was worried it wasn't big enough as I was used to a slightly larger griddle on a previous stove, but this one is doing fine. I love the even heat on the griddle and the fabulous control of all of the burners. I am rather short and have a big belly, so I have had to watch bumping the front mounted controls. I'll get used to that though. It's easier to learn to watch the controls than to get rid of the belly. We have used the oven and it bakes very evenly. We have yet to try the convection oven yet, but look forward to this the next time we use it. I need baby steps to become one with my new range. Looking forward to may years of fabulous cooking on this masterpiece.

A disappointment

Purchased a lesser GE model 5 yeas ago at our previouse house. It was fantastic with even temperature and great features. Purchased this unit 5 months ago in our new house. We were excited to again be upgrading to a new range and had high hopes. We were extremely let down with constant temperature variations that are off up to 100 degrees at times while on convection bake. Overall we had much higher expectations and are thouroguhly disappoineted with this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this just in time for installation a day before Thanksgiving replacing an older GE Profile Range. The new range has an improved stovetop design that facilitates both cooking and cleaning. The steam clean feature and self cleaning racks are a great improvement. The range controls are easily understood and easy to use. Very pleased with this product.

easy to use

Our previous stove was a GE smooth top range (11 years old), but we opted for gas this time. We've had stove for 2 weeks and love it. Used the griddle for pancakes and eggs this week with the family; worked wonderfully. Baked our ham in the oven, and it turned out perfectly except we made a mistake with not having enough water in the pan so the stove got splattered in ham drippings. What a mess, so we did the self cleaning and now it's spotless again. Even our 17 year old uses it and baked yummy chocolate chip cookies; she thought she'd hate it for baking but has since decided otherwise. Thanks GE for being a great addition to our kitchen.

You get what you pay for. This range has the quality I was looking for. I bought a cheaper range different manufacturer and immediately exchanged it for this GE model. Completely satisfied with all the features

Great look and features!

Love the functionality and the added burners and grates along with the grill. The warming drawer can be used for additional storage as well.
