[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heater works absolutely amazingly well. It warms up quickly and works well to heat the room you are in. I like the whole room vs personal area heat. That is a very nice feature. The fan is very nice to look at as well! It is not hot to the touch at all. It is a little loud but not so loud that it is disruptive. Overall, it works really well! I give this an A++!

Gets the job done just in time for cooler temperatures

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was asked if I would like to review the IR400 Infrared Heater and I have to say I am glad I said yes. The company sent me the cute heater that is square, glossy white with gray detail. It is small enough to fit right in with any room. Don't let the size fool you, right away I plugged it in and it went to work quickly, and heated the area I wanted in minutes. I put it on the highest setting to use in my great room. It's rather large so I didn't expect the heater to heat the entire room. What I did like was my family could sit on the furniture and find that the heater was heating the area enough to feel comfortable, when sometimes we feel chilly in the great room, because the ceilings are so high and it has so many windows. This heater has a nice handle on it so you can move it easily from room to room. The IR400 Heater also has a digital screen, so adjusting the heat settings is nice and easy. Another nice feature is its tip over protection, and that the unit is not hot when you touch it. For its second challenge I moved the heater into my daughters room. Smaller, and always cold. I would say around 400 square feet heated up in 20 minutes are so. The heater has a setting where you can heat the whole room, or just a personal spot. I used the whole room setting and was very happy with the results. This heater is a bit noisy when running, but it's not any louder then a fan and it's just as loud as other space heaters I have had. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a space heater.

Great power in a small heater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The IR400 Infrared Heater is very powerful! It has a lot of great features that I appreciate, like being able to set to a certain temperature and stay there, and staying cool to the touch. The control panel is very easy to use and navigate. I also like how it has two modes: personal use or whole room heat. I've never seen that in a space heater before! It's so much better than the space heater I was using before, that was really tiny and only had "low" and "high" modes. This device also has a really handy little carrying handle that pops up for easy transport from room to room. The only downside to this heater is the price, it's on the high side for a space heater. However, I can definitely see how it will save money by being able to turn the house furnace down and this heater on in the room you are using. It would be great for guest rooms, living rooms, basement play areas, workshops, bedrooms, etc.

A Must-Have to Chase Away the Winter Chill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this space heater. I have hypothyroidism, which means I'm freezing all the time. With this heater, I can enjoy a personal heat zone that's exactly the right temp for me without annoying everyone else in my home by cranking up the thermostat. It also saves money while I'm not heating the entire house at 75 degrees! I own a couple of other space heaters, but I prefer this one because it's quiet enough that I barely notice it running and the controls offer precise heating instead of just a basic high-medium-low setting. As a parent, I also feel it's the safer choice. The cube shape would be very difficult to tip over, the excess cord can be wrapped around the back so it's not a tripping hazard, and the heater remains cool to the touch no matter what temperature you have it set at. I would highly recommend this space heater to anyone who lives in an area with cold winters.

Powerful and Attractive Little Heater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The IR400 Infrared Heater is a little powerhouse of a heater, that is quiet, efficient, and nice to look at. This is our first Infared style heater and I am beyond impressed. Yesterday was very windy and our house felt quite drafty, so I thought this was a perfect opportunity to test this little heater out. I plugged it in, set the room temperature to 80 (to really put it to the test) and let it go. Within minutes I could notice a difference in the temperature of the room. Our large kitchen/dining area warmed up very nicely, pretty quickly, and the entire time I could barely even hear the heater running. This thing is VERY quiet! This little machine has a very attractive, and modern design. It is small, sleek and really fits in with any decor. On the back there is a little cord-wheel so you can wind up and store the power cord when not in use. On the top there are a set of buttons to control the power, temperature, fan speed, etc, and a hidden, pop-up handle for transporting this little device. I am also very impressed with the "cool down" feature. When you are finished using this heater, and want to press "power" to power the heater down, instead of just immediately shutting off like many other heaters I have previously owned, it goes into a "cooling down" mode - which basically rapidly drops the temperature of the heater before powering off. I assume this is a safety feature, and with two small children running around it is a feature I truly appreciate. Overall I think this heater is great. It is quiet, works fast, is sleek and modern. The controls are easy to understand and use, and it seems to be very safe - especially with the "cool down" mode. I love the handle for carrying, and I love even more that when the handle is not up it sort of blends right into the heater and you can hardly even tell it's there. I would definitely recommend this heater and have a feeling it will come in very handy in the upcoming winter months in our drafty house!

Not what i expected

I bought this for my baby's room that is about 170 sqft with 10 ft ceiling. Outside it is 53F and the most i can get in that room is to 73F after 2 hours. Room is made of concrete walls and only small 24x24 in window that is actually closed. I was expecting to have about 80-85F. I bought it in the usa but now im in mexico and dont know if i will be able of returning it. I also bought the vornado 660 and that one is great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
