Who needs Starbucks

We have really enjoyed this product, we use it everyday. It makes Cappuccino or Latte to perfection quickly. I have found you have to froth the milk first or it is difficult to get the froth pitcher connected. 3 pumps syrup for Latte and 1.5 for Cappuccino round off this product perfect!!

Less than 20 uses the unit stopped piercing the pod & hot water goes directly into trip tray & not the cup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I use my Rivo almost daily and sometimes multiple times per day and I've never had an issue with this machine. I've be appalled by the recent negative reviews by people who obviously didn't know what they were buying or didn't comprehend what this brewer does and what pods it supports. They seem to have expected it to be a K-Cup machine! I'm sorry but giving a 1 star review because you didn't read and understand this only brews Espresso drinks and ONLY support LaVazza Espresso pods isn't the fault of the brewer. It's YOUR fault for not understanding what you're buying. The brewer works as stated. It supports what is stated in all the descriptions and marketing materials. It does what it was designed to do and it does it well! Not only that but even though there are only four LaVazza pod types (one is decaf), those are exceptional espresso grinds with Intenso being the best for those who want the strong, rich flavor of a good Espresso. If you feel it's too strong simply look at the included recipes and create yourself a nice Cappucino or Latte! For those considering this machine, please realize it does what it say and works flawlessly to achieve those brews. If you're expecting a normal coffee machine with 50 different pod types, this is NOT the brewer for you. If you are looking to kick your coffee experience up a notch (to Espresso drinks) then I highly recommend this brewer. I don't even want to drink regular coffee anymore!

Easy, great latte at home

My husband bought the Rivo for me as a Christmas gift. I asked for a machine with a milk reservoir, and the Rivo, with a frother, is a compromise on functionality and cost compared to competitors. It makes great espresso and latte with much less effort than a manual espresso maker and at a lower cost than store made. A few faults: espresso only gets to 135 degrees on the first cartridge of the day, 140 degrees on the second. The frother brings milk to 160 degrees. While that makes it immediately drinkable, it's not hot enough for a thermos cup for work. Getting the water reservoir attached to the side of the machine is tricky, but once attached, it stays put and holds enough for a lot of espresso. Learning how to froth without overflowing is also tricky. The secret is to overfill a bit and make sure the milk is cold. Overall, this is a good product and will serve us well for a long time.

I researched competitive products for about 6 months before committing to the Rivo. When compared to the Nespresso Pixie, it is much easier to use and clean-up. If you compare this unit to the Starbucks Verisimo, you get good quality espresso pods and can steam your own skim milk without having to use a milk pod. I am so glad I picked this product. It is very easy to use and clean. I love, love the milk frothing as well. For the price, this is a top notch machine well worth the investment.

The Rivo sounded too good to be true but I took a chance and ordered one and, oh boy, am I happy! Espresso at the touch of a button. A dream of a milk frother. Clean up that even I don't mind doing. This little machine is giving me coffee shop quality drinks at home with minimal clean up. What more could I want?

Received this (later in the evening) last night. I couldn't wait to use this. I used the decaf coffee that came in the packaging. With a little creative experiments, I came out with the best caramel cappuccino that I have ever tasted. My Niece and I have made approximately 3 cups apiece, we can't keep our hands off of it.... You could say it was love at first sight and the flavor is marvelous! Two thumbs up!

This machine makes great lattes, which is all that I have tried so far. It is so easy to use and the lattes are as good as Joe Muggs and Starbucks. I am in love with this machine. I wish they would include some recipes for the flavored lattes. Sample syrup bottles are provided, but I was unsure how much syrup to add to the lattes. I realize that this is partly personal taste but some guidelines would be helpful. If anyone has experienced with the syrups and have suggestions as to how much of the chocolate and carmel syrups to use or have other creative ideas, please post.
